If that's the case then why does my bill clearly state that there is an early exit fee of £30 per fuel on my tariff.
There are two possible explanations: (1) the bill is incorrect or (2) you are no longer on the deemed tariff and have been moved to a different one.

Either one would be grounds to start the formal complaint process. You'll probably need to involve the Ombudsman in due course. (I've already submitted a complaint for failure to receive a final bill within 8 weeks of leaving, so I only have about 6 weeks to wait before escalating if they pull the same stunt with me - and no, I've not received any kind of response in the last 2 weeks)

Meanwhile, save a copy of this page: https://togetherenergy.co.uk/oneselect-faqs/
This states "Will I be able to leave without exit fees? Yes. There are no exit fees on the tariff you’ll be joining."

Also make sure you have the email from them with Subject "Your Together Energy Account" sent 6th January 2019 stating the same.

I left TE on the 11th Feb and my final bill says nothing about exit fees and the balance "owing" is equal to my usage less the (incorrect) credit carried forward from One Select. :)
EDIT In the small print re the OS Dec18 tariff it DOES say £30 exit fee --- but it also says tariff runs until 22/05/2046:rotfl:

    Welcome to Together Energy

Your account will be fully transferred and set up with us by Tuesday 8th January 2019 meaning you can switch to another Together Energy tariff or switch to a new supplier, should you choose to do so.
We are working on your final balances from your time at OneSelect (up to 13 December 2018) and will be issuing these throughout January. We need to check them before we send them and hence why it cannot all just be done automatically.
If we have not sent you a final balance to 13 December 2018 by the end of January we will contact you to explain why and try to resolve any outstanding queries as quickly as possible.
Your direct debits are currently being set up with your existing value and payment date so there is nothing for you to do.
2018 was a record year for energy price rises – we can offer you the best value 2 and 3 year fixed price deals in the market. Why not protect yourself against these and lock in your energy price now.

Welcome to Together Energy – your account will be transferred to us by Tuesday 8 January 2019.
We know this has been a difficult time for you with the collapse of OneSelect particularly at the busiest time of year and we’ve been working really hard over the Christmas period to make sure you are all up and running for the New Year.
We will have managed your switch within the expected industry timeframes.

From this date, you can switch to another Together Energy tariff or to another supplier.
Your Direct Debits will initially continue at the same amount and be taken on the same date as they did with OneSelect. If you think these amounts are wrong please double check your bank statement to verify your last Direct Debit payment made to OneSelect, as it may have recently increased in line with a winter uplift. If the amount does differ, please do not hesitate to contact us.

You are on a tariff with no exit fees – this rate will not change for six months.

This is what was sent on the 7th Jan via email, so there should be no exit fees.

This was on the most recent bill which obviously contradicts the letter saying no exit fees for at least 6 months

Once again baffled by this dreadful company. As one of the previous posts I also cancelled my DD so TE will be unable to collect the £9 something I owe them as no alternative available except DD. I expect they'll attempt to send around the debt collectors if their past inept performance is anything to go by.

I've not even had a final bill yet. No contact from TE for some time and no attempt to set up a DD with my bank. If there are no exit fees for 6 months from the transfer date, I think I'll switch elsewhere from the end of this month. I'm surprised MSE hasn't looked into this shambolic business

Well, I have finally caved and switched to the 'new and improved' Shell Energy (with cashback), after several months of zero communication from Together Energy (and seemingly free gas and electricity). Within one day of the switch request being placed, I received a call from Together asking me if I had requested the switch and if so, why. I don't think the poor chap was prepared for my reply! I'm guessing he worked in the retentions team. If anyone is sticking with Together and needs a direct number that has more chance of being answered, try 01412808897. Good luck to all those Together remainers

I have very recently changed from Together Energy to shell. I also received a call from TE asking why i was leaving and offering me three years fixed term. I turned them down flat. Such bad customer service, and not great on price, so glad i have left. I hope shell turns out better!!!
Trinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!

Well I got my email through and immediately submitted the details for my £110ish refund back in April. It said 30 days for it to go in....still nothing in my account and the 30 days is over on Friday.
