But surely statute states that the product must be fit for purpose and reasonably manufactured to a certain level if quality
  • Why are people still replying to this thread anymore, could a moderator lock it please?

No it doesn't, it just states Fit for Purpose.
Again, this is your contract with the retailer. You DO NOT have a contract with the manufacturer, unless they offer a warranty which is above and beyond your statutory rights.

If so, you would have invalidated the warranty if you had one. Plus you will stand a slim to nil chance invoking your consumer rights against the retailer as you have been flashing the phone.

Thanks my man some helpful posts there to help me better understand what's going on I think I better grasp the idea now it seems like the Warranty responsibility lies with the last person that sold the item to you for example retailer sells the item to me retailer has the warranty and if Samsung says it to retailer retailer has warranty with Samsung.

It just so happens that for the benefit of the customer Samsung allow certain retailers customers to access their repair centres etc directly.

Good deduction on the other thread actually both my S9 so working when did get stuck in reboot loop but this was due to a malfunctioning USB port that was preventing the phone from completing is flashing

    Not correct.

There is only one manufacturer’s warranty, between the manufacturer and the first consumer who buys the item. Some firms allow that warranty to be transferred to a new buyer whilst others don’t. As the first buyer you would have the warranty in addition to their consumer rights.

If you’re buying it second hand you have consumer statutory rights from the retailer you’re buying from (they could decide to also offer their own additional warranty in addition to statutory rights).

You need to understand that the warranty is in addition to consumer rights.

I didn't think any of your posts were "sick comments", idiotic maybe?

Thanks for the compliments though, happy Christmas.
