Wi-Fi calling
Hi has anyone had this issue before ok I bought my phone and the Wi-Fi calling was not activated on it so I phoned up my network and they said go and speak to Samsung so I went and spoke to Samsung they said I should speak to the network to send out a firmware update the network now said that they can't send it out because I didn't buy the phone from them.
Notably I'm on 3 has anybody else had this experience? Or even with another provider

Samsung are correct networks send updates .
Network are correct .
Samsung Kies and later version are what you can use to update .0 -
Find the latest H3G firmware for your phone here: https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ and use Kies to install it. Google for instructions.0

Hi Aaron just interesting to know I have S7 and S9 and they both have Wi-Fi calling with three but now I bought an S9 plus and they don't have it with three.
The Bazaar thing is is that I phoned up Samsung and they were adamant that it should be available on three for the S9 plus and then I even got Samsung to call three to do it and as above 3 turn around said well because I didn't buy the phone from them that they couldn't do it so now I have to put in a complaint to three I want something writing if not I'm going to go to the ombudsman0 -

I remember that at some stage Three changed the way Wi-Fi calling activates and you have to have almost no signal before it will activate now.
Someone gave a suggestion that to check if Wi-Fi calling is active put the phone in airplane mode and then switch the Wi-Fi back on and see if it will show then.
If your phone has the Three firmware on it and is a model on the list of phones Three say are compatible then it is automatic as soon as you turn the Wi-Fi calling option on in the phone settings menu.0 -
The "Three inTouch" app works on most Android smartphones AFAIK. We have a poor 3 signal at home and a Motorola G4 makes and receives calls over our WiFi.

That's a good points regarding it being available on the current model although the odd thing is that I have the option on my S9 but not my S9 Plus.
To clarify I'm talking about using the hardware version of Wi-Fi calling and not the intouch app which dies actually provide Wi-Fi calling
Yep you are correct you put the phone into flight mode and then turn on Wi-Fi and you should get it off handset the top next to the aeroplane
The phone was originally an EE handset but I bought it second-hand and got unlocked0
