Many Tesco stores have self scanner price checkers located about the store. You could fill up your trolley with expensive things then spend 15 mins at a scanner looking for the over priced item :rotfl:
Wilkinson books with 75% off are coming up at the till as 99% off.~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

Addy wrote:This is one that I've seen in more than one store. In the toy section, there are some Combat Army vehicles, there are 3 in the range and they usually have stickers on for (I think) £7.84, the price on the shelf and the one they scan at is £7.97 (from memory - certainly higher than the stickered price). This falls within their policy and I've had full refunds on a few which have come in very handy for birthday presents!
This one still worksThanks Addy
But what a kerfuffle trying to get my refund! Saturday afternoon, huge queue at Customer Services, me with two Corps Commando Vehicles. Girl tries to fob me off with just the difference in price (£1-ish, yeah right!)... I point at the enormous sign behind her back with the Tesco policy on it, and she says, "Oh, getting your money back means you only get the difference in price back!". I ask to see the manager and then she mysteriously changes her mind and gives me the full amount
Am looking forward to any more tips0 -
Yes, I had a skiffle with one of the Customer (Dis)Service Assistants. He went to the shelf to check and came back and told me that none of the others had the stickers on (they did before he went) and that someone must have "been messing around" and put the wrong stickers on - saw red at this, and insisted on seeing the manager, who agreed with me and instructed the jobsworth to refund me0

This is not true. In my area they have posters up indicating that they will refund the over charged amount but no more. It has been this way for some time now.0 -
I was under the impression that the "refund and keep the item" policy was dead and buried at our local store, although one or two members of staff will still do it if you persist. There certainly isn't a sign up stating that is their policy at customer services anymore...Thanks to all who post constructively.

Interesting, this is from Tesco.com:-
And if things don't add up
• In the unlikely event that we overcharge you we will give you your money back and you can keep the product.
I think I would complain if they refused to follow this rule.
