  • The weather is hideous here. Can't help thinking that Monday will be interesting if the roof has leaked again.

Himself is now washing up the cutlery as he's hungry, has no intention of going out and there is not a single knife, fork or spoon in the drawer. He's nicely offered me a cuppa, which I've gracefully accepted , so I suspect he's got a rough idea that I might have preferred to do something other than clean the kitchen today. No sign of the threatened vacuuming, but I never expected it to be a serious suggestion.

After we've eaten, I'm going upstairs to watch something other than multiple episodes of the s*dding Big Bang Theory and The Simpsons. Or read a book. Something less brain numbing, at any rate.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

    -Changed and washed bedding.
    - vacuumed pretty much everywhere visible.
    - emptied large (custom-made by Mr N) box which holds all cleaning equipment and resides under the stairs. Am determined that anything being put back in our beautiful new hall will earn its place. Chucked away numerous tatty dusters, rags, 4 bits of vacuum cleaner fittings which belonged to our previous vax and don't fit the current one, consolidated 3 containers of window cleaner into 2, checked whether anything under the kitchen sink should really be in box. It now fits nicely under the stairs.
    - went through all coats, ditto justifying their place. Decided to send several coats and fleeces to charity shop.
    - re washed one hall curtain which birds had used as target practice when it was on the washing line.
    - washed 4 dusters.
    - finished a report
    - did more knitting.
    - wrapped boxes for charity food and packed; all ready for delivery.
    - checked cc payment and bank transactions.
    - rang friend who is with us over Christmas to warn her about MIL situation.
    - booked tickets for a Tango show in Feb.

Hm didn't achieve as much as we hoped. Oh well, can only try. Spent the evening watching Strictly.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.

shhhh = creeping in... don't want to wake Valli xx

So the house is a complete and utter tip - I thought jojo was in my kitchen until she mentioned the SC (I don't own one) but 10+ bowls of pots is probably near the mark :( Plus Mount Washmore to rival Everest :( Epic fail on H2H as house is probably worse than it was at the beginning of the year _pale_

But I can only start from where I am …. and the Christmas shopping is all done; cards are all written; Mr T is delivering food on Wednesday; so, it's not all bad. Maybe one year I will manage to incorporate Christmas preparations with keeping on top of everything else - but not this year. :( I am a disgrace to the name flylady :o

However I am now on Annual Leave + weekends + Bank Holidays and do not return to the paid stuff until 27th Dec. So there is a glimmer of light in the tunnel. Goal for today is to get the tree up :xmastree: (- looks at pile of stuff on table (where tree will stand) by my chair and gulps). It'll be pizza for lunch as [STRIKE]we have no clean pans[/STRIKE] I don't have the energy to clear the cooker top to cook.

I've got a banging headache - there was a box of Bl@ck M@gic left over after I sorted presents yesterday. I ate it whilst watching Strictly :o Now I remember why I don't eat dark chocolate …. it gives me a headache :o

So couple of parrots to swallow first; then WM to load before I get dressed.

Today will be productive. It will.

  • ATB slopes back in....

    Morning all :)

My SS gift arrived and is tucked under the tree :)

Life has been bonkers here. I break up on Thursday for Christmas, DH home on Friday. We are winding his business down so had lots of admin to do around that. When he finishes the current contract in April he is taking a month off :j

The house is presentable, the kids are full of pre Christmas excitement and end of term exhaustion, I've kept the weight off :T, think that's it :rotfl:

    Missed you all xx

    :hello: ATB xx

My headache is less. I am washed and dressed. And I've: made the bed; opened small windows in bedroom and bathroom - to let some (very) fresh air in; taken dry clothes off airer; sorted washing in to loads; fed the birds; put out the rubbish and a few bits of recycling including a cardboard box which was in the wash basket????; and my first WM load has just finished.

I am not having breakfast until the following is done:
1 empty WM and start 2nd load swishing
2 put wet washing on airer/ radiators
3 put a bowl of pots to soak
4 decant bird seed in to container

This thread / page / forum / ?? / is a Godsend. I don't know you in RL, but I love you ladies.

Just had my coffee and a nice session with my kindle. The sun is shining. S'pose I ought to get up, eat breakfast and clean out a bunny hutch. Then write cards...

    ^^^ done :D

I've also WUDUPA the bowl of pots, and rinsed and recycled two milk cartons and 22 cola cans.

WM has just finished again. So I'll unload it and arrange washing on airer.

My head hurts - I am never ever eating dark chocolate again!

  • Himself actually got the vacuum cleaner into service briefly. I'm having a very long bath to make up for being too busy yesterday.

He's claimed he will scrub the kitchen floor this week. And suggested that we miss Sunday dinner and all similar meals because we'll have one on the 25th.

I suggested that he stops eating all crisps and sweets for the period because I'll buy him a mini packet of Haribo and giftwrap it.

He's now at the shop buying food for Sunday Dinner.

    :hello: ATB!

House looks like a rival to Widow Twankey's. There is no more space to hang drying washing so wm has been stood down for today.
DD is unpacking Christmas in the LR, so that looks like a tornado has gone through it.
    DH is sawing floorboards.
A peaceful Sunday afternoon in a tidy house - not!!!
