Best get up, I suppose. Himself is still snoring so I've been listening to my radio app since I woke up.
Bathrooms and kitchen floor scrub today, I think.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
*takes deep breath*
A few weeks ago I arranged a belated birthday 'girls get-together'. And decided to have it here
We're having HM indian...everyone's bringing something BUT I have to cook. And have guests in my home. This is the first time for a long time. I rather suspect this is a significant moment indicating I'm moving on (I'm sure there's a word for it but I can't think).
First job. Breakfast
Then I need to write a shopping list and go and get the stuff...Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Great. Enjoy it. :grouphug::grouphug:Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Enjoy it, Valli.
WM delivered (7am, well they did promise early delivery!), installed and now working for its living.
It's bitterly cold out and raining. I am about to take DD riding and so looking forward to spending a couple of hours in the car waiting. I have soup and tea and a book. Sorted.0 -

Kairotic?
Floor scrubbing was postponed when I ventured into the kitchen and realised there has apparently been no washing up done all week. Again.
After retrieving the few things that had been sploshed with dirty, greasy water and put into the cupboard, unloading the full bowl, unblocking the sink and organising the washing up into types, I got bored and
Cleared the countertop
Binned lots of stuff from the fridge (these two resulting in a full binbag)
Put the binbag by the front door
Put a washload on
Hung the washload out
Put the hot water on again
Put together a washload of towels he'd chucked down the stairs
Tried to wake Himself up again
Gave it up as a bad job
Drunk tea
Faffed about on the internet with two animals (who have their own fur coats, FGS) huddled up next to me on a furry throw/stealing my heat because they seen to think that they're freezing to death
He got up about 20 minutes ago, immediately put the telly on and they had to pay the windowcleaner (because I walked away to deal with empty things in the bathroom instead)I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Don't think it was that word as I've never heard it before.
Been to aldi, the Asda for the spices they didn't have and then had to go to the huge Tesco for cardamom pods. Fortunately they are all close by each other. Mad out there as it *may* snow.
Made kachumber so that's 'mingling' in the fridge.
Lunch. The chicken to marinate.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

All highly perfumed and toxic to cats cleaning products glared at balefully and shoved in the cupboard under the sink [strike]especially as they appear to be in the house for largely decorative purposes rather than regular use[/strike].
Sink scrubbed and bleached.
Countertop scrubbed and bleached.
Bleach-demented feline delinquents persuaded to get the **** out from under my feet or sitting on the table watching me.
Himself has decided he needs [strike]to escape me[/strike] a very long bath.
Ten bowls of washing up done. Three or four to go.
Last Sunday's dinner remains left in the SC duly removed and crockpot washed properly.
Realised the waterdrops left on the newly cleaned windows aren't the windowcleaner slacking, it's tipping down outside, [strike]thus making the windowcleaning pointless.[/strike]
Latest acquisition, a grey tartan fleece wrap/small blanket put on the knackered settee.
Bleach-demented feline delinquent #1 testing the new fleece as it is two and a half foot away from me in my present mood of Why Am I Having To Do This On My Days Off Again?.
Mumbled promises of getting the vacuum cleaner out later whilst on his way up to [strike]safety[/strike] the bathroom duly disbelieved and ignored.
Downstairs Toilet cleaned
Downstairs sink cleaned (absolutely my fault it needed doing, as there was foundation dolloped on it)
Bleach-demented feline #2 now crept onto the old, furry fleece on the settee because it's safer than attempting to get to the new one.
Oh, my tails and whiskers! I've just opened the microwave! Rust - AND blue mould!
Now looking online for a new one before cleaning the WM and Freezer.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
raita made...with mutterings of 'I'm NOT putting THAT in'. Raita does not include raw chopped chilli or toasted cumin seds.
Chicken marinading.
Dubious-looking tyres replaced. Purse in hysterics.
Friends due in 3 hours. About to commence operation 'shove all the carp into a big bag and hide it'.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

3 more bowls of washing up done.
Hob cleaned.
WM, freezer and fridge cleaned.
Cat removed from table
Table cleaned of dirty paw marks
Cat removed from table
Table cleaned of dirty paw marks
Cat removed from table and told to find somebody else to bother
Table cleaned of dirty paw marks
Scales and fruit bowl returned to the countertop
Cat bowls picked up, shuddered at and put to soak.
Complaints from living room that the cat is on the coffee table duly noted and ignored.
Observation from the front room (having finally emerged from the post-bath 'rest') that the loud rumble was one of the hundred wheelie bins the council insist we have disappearing down the road duly noted and ignored.
Rapid stopping of car travelling wayyy over the 20mph speed limit duly noted and, in the absence of any sounds of impact, ignored.
Comment that having to go outside and retrieve the wheelie bin would be cold and wet duly noted and ignored.
Sound of driver struggling to put wheelie bin back in general direction of the garden noted and duly ignored.
Sighs whilst putting on shoes noted and duly ignored.
'Where's the waterproof?' answered with a mildmannered 'I picked it up and hung it up whilst you were in the bath'
Sighing sounds noted and duly ignored.
Slamming of front door noted and duly ignored.
Sweetly informed Himself upon his return that all that's remaining to do in the kitchen is wash up the cutlery, the cat food bowls and do the floor. This was noted and duly ignored.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Ah Valli that sounds good, enjoy x
Thanks for good wishes for DS. He is recovering and it was good news from his hospital follow up yesterday. Its strange having him around, funny how quickly you get used to them being away.
Joined a new gym a couple of weeks ago and went for a PT session this morning which was nerve- racking, I am such a wuss with new people and places! Anyway it was fine and I was pleased I did it.
Other than that, a bit of shopping, planning for a family get together I am organising and a very quick visit to parents.
Been tired all day. Feet up now, DS and friend to take to the pub and pick up I think - weather dreadful so not looking forward to going out.0
