On the contrary, it is your argument that makes no sense and actually supports what I said.

We hold a general election in the UK for the people to decide who will run the country for the next five years. We did this in 2015 however just two years later a snap general election was held to see if the people had changed their mind! You and BLB53 seem to be saying this was rejecting democracy because the elected govenrment didn't wait until their full five year term had passed!

That's just what you want to happen as you are afraid another referendum will result in a different answer to last time. There is absolutely no basis in law or democracy to delay a second referendum.

So according to your logic the Tories should never of taken power until the second vote.

Its very simple, we vote, we enact that note, if the Conservative party win that vote then they get to form the government. We don't put the result on hold for 2 years to first see if people may have changed their mind..

I personally would love another vote right now as I've previously stated but if you remainers are being honest about another vote and as you say, you respect the first referendum and result then the only possible questions on a new ballot paper can be, Mays Deal or No Deal.

However, all this is irrelevant, there won't be another vote, like it or not....

Once the 2016 referendum is enacted in full and time has passed then, sure, lets have another vote....

Do you have any democratic reason for having to enact it before checking it's what people actually want? Any precedent?
Or is it just the hope that once we leave it'll be too painful to get back in and you'll win by the back door?

I can give you 17.4 million reasons:)

The same reason that we don't follow a GE with a second GE immediately afterwards to check if that's what people still want. If you really think we should have a second referendum 2 years down the line because it may no longer be the view of the majority, why not have them every 2 years, to see if we want to stay / leave the EU? Doing that would ensure nothing else ever got done in this country.

Don't fear, by the time 3 years have past we'd have been out of the EU by almost 3 months;)

Could not agree more that climate change issues should be getting far more attention rather than politicians squabbling over Brexit. This is one big reason why I cannot understand why people want to drag this out for a further 18 months (at least) calling for another referendum.

Climate Change is the most important issue and a challenge to the global community and it's being total sidelined by Brexit...what do we tell the grandchildren?

There are 8 billion people in the world - within 30 years there will be nearly 10 billion with over 11 billion by the end of the century. Less than 75 years ago there were only 2 billion people in the world.

No one will of course recognise the biggest cause of man made climate change – we have four times as many men and women in the world as we did less than a century ago and will soon have five times as many! And assuming we do nothing about that nothing much will change.

Do you really think what the 65 million people in the UK do is really going to make much difference? The UK and its people really is going to have a negligible impact on controlling climate change – but we can of course choose to leave the EU.

No and that's why we need to have influence amongst larger groups like the EU.

Parties which committed to leaving the EU won 85% of the vote at last year's general election - that's around 27 million votes. Even if of course many of those voting for one of those parties appear not to have read its manifesto!

The thing is this. For our political system to work, we have to assume that those at the helm are indeed competent.

Well firstly he was an idiot who thought that despite him loudly & often placing blame on the EU for every problem caused by his own government, believed that people would ignore all and vote remain.

Secondly, do any of us truly believe that ANY of our current politicians (I stress here in Westminster & of any party) are actually competent? If you do - have you actually been listening for the last 2 years? Surely their LACK of competence must have even the most fervent Brexiteer biting their nails.
