We did sit in the garden with a bottle of vino last night and enjoy the moment. Wish I was doing that now instead I am trying to find my CV on my PC. Given our PC has been back to basic's this is a challenge in itself!

I am so cross with OH !!!

Checking through finances today and bringing spending diary upto date I discover that in the last week or so of June he spent £241.89 on petrol on the CC we are meant to be using for holiday. That blinking (had to restrain myself there) gas guzzler of his :mad: and :mad:! What makes it worse is that he didn't even tell me. I've paid it off out of this months petrol fund but that only leaves £90 in there for the rest of the month.

To then add insult to injury his withdrew £50 out of the joint account to have with him at cricket today. Given he's driving thats ridiculous and given given that I told him his cricket fund (money put aside from his bonus to fund his cricket) has been hammered by him and had only £80 left in it (£30 now :rotfl:) with 8 matches to go.

His own account which has £50 pm paid into it (as does mine) back at the start of the year he put his car loan DD (double :mad:) onto it instead of the joint account. This resulted in £160 odd of charges!! I've written the reclaim letter but the bank didn't issue a new switch card therefore he can't get money out of that. Has he done anything about it - has he heck!! So he just takes the money from the joint account.

I am really brassed off to say the least. I feel like a real muppet. He swans about in a fancy car, spending money like water and I'm watching every penny, selling bits on ebay, MSing, MBing, working and looking after the kids. I feel like he is taking the michael!!

We're meant to be going to a birthday party tomorrow for one of my friends at work. He been making noises about not coming all week - too much to do etc etc:mad:. I can't decide whether to tell him to get lost or too force him to come.

:embarasse:cry:angry::angry: Sorry rant over but sometimes it just gets beyond effort.

Oh dear, i recognise all of that in my OH - you have my sympathy :)
I know my OH thinks that we are economisng now to pay of the debts and we will go back to 'normal' once they are paid - he doesn't yet realise living to a budget, spending no more than you earn and even saving for things is normal. I'm hoping he will be a convert by the time our DF journey is at its end but i'm not over confident.

Sounds like your OH has a similar mentality, and with the debt figure going down so nicely (all thanks to your efforts!) he's relaxing into old ways - it's only £20 what does it matter etc. One step forward as they say

My OH works in a band and hes always 1st up to get a round in which is usually in a hotel lobby so mega expensive and I play hell with him!

Make him go to the party! I'm dragging mine out tonight even tho' he just wants to snooze on sofa
Don't let it deflate you have fun at the party cg x

Thanks CG - I just felt that I needed to rant. I've sent him a snotty text giving him warning I'm not happy. I'm glad to know he's not the only twit out there.

Its not that he's not on board, he is generally, but I think because I do the detail of it all its out of sight out of mind and as you say what does £20 here or there matter. I'll clear up the problem.

I know with his petrol its because of work that he travels and get mileage but blinking hell £240 in 9 days. If it was me I would change the car but that of course would be far too pratical

Its also that he's the one who goes out and does things for himself whilst I'm the one who rarely goes out or buys things for myself and when I do I feel guilty that I'm depriving the kids of family time etc etc. I know ridiculous but it seems to be female failing in my experience.

Off to throw a bottle of hair dye on my hair now - wish I'd paid a fotune at the hairdressers now

    I've calmed down now :o

Talked at :o and with  OH about his lack of communication ref money at times and we've moved on and I've let it go! Its get so frustrating at times and the grind of work, family, debt busting, cleaning (well sometimes), laundry, debt busting, work etc etc gets a little much. I/We are so looking forward to our break, can't come soon enough.

Nothing much will happen on the debt busting front this month so July's payday will see just the scheduled amount paid off but I'm hoping to be little miss motivated in August when we'll only be a few (and I do mean a few) paydays off being DF.

    :cool:Hi folks

Back from holiday and feeling relaxed, chilled and focused with lots of energy for the continued tasks ahead :D.

We had a great holiday in the south of France, weather and accommodation were first class. It really was great fun and worth the waiting for!

Just brought my spending diary upto date (from holiday Yes I know its sad but it was a DFW first last year and even OH was telling me to write stuff in this year !! ). Anyway once again we overspent against our budget this year mainly because I hadn't properly costs the extra costs involved in staying over for 2 nights whilst travelling to and from France. Its not the end of the world though the overspend of £600 ish :o will have to come from this months Debt busting budget. This means that our DF date shifts a little but thats life and thats before any extra sources of income get added in!

Need to go and catch up on everyone's news
