Productive day today. Didn't get much washing done though since the weather was pants which meant I couldn't get much dried!! Slowly it will get done though.

Made some positive progress on the finances. Although I've been paid this month OH still has to be (should be tomorrow) so once that is done I can make the cc payments for this month. Good news is the Halifax card will be cleared this month :T:T.
    Things I've done today:
    • I've organised a better savings account for our holiday fund so that should be open for next month. Rate at just over 4% rather than the paultry amount I'm getting at present.
    • Sorted out a card account for my DD to get her used to managing her pocket money. Once I get the account details I will set up a S/O for her pocket money to be paid into it. Although this will come with the caveat that she has to save some of her money each month for Christmas/School trips etc. Bless she doesn't get much pocket money but she's got to learn now :o
    • Organised a list of Xmas pressies from the book people. Sad but I do like to be a little organised. I've got a small stash of things which I bought in the sale but I think I may have used some of them as birthday pressies! I'll check when the kids aren't around.
    • Organised DD's birthday presents and birthday treat subject to the friends being able to confirm. I'll get DD to do the invites tomorrow. Good to have this organised since her birthday is only a couple of weeks away.
    • Booked a MS for next Monday
    • Sold and posted a book on Green Metropolis
    • Booked a couple of what we call big days out for the holidays - aswages my working parent guilt (!) using Mr T vouchers. £23 of vouchers for two very nice days out.
So once payday arrives the credit card payments will be made and the totals adjusted although they won't reduce too much because of the overspend on holiday :p.

Things to get done DF this summer:
    • Tax return . This is the biggest challenge and I will get it done during August. Hopefully it won't be too bad and I've got all my paperwork to hand sort of:o. Last year I got a £10 rebate but I don't think that will be the case this year since I've done a lot more MSing.
    • Get matched betting up and running again. I took a break over the summer and took some money out of the kitty I built off and actually paid if off the debt. The kitty now stands at £130 which will have to keep me going for a while.
    • Get loads of stuff listed on ebay, green metrolpolis etc etc. De clutter etc etc. Its a chore I know but it does generate some steady cash when listed steadily and every £ made does so count.
    • Sort out my filing - this is a little like my ironing pile. What makes it worse is the files are actually above the tray I stuff the papers in !!
Easy not much to do then and what feels like weeks ahead to get it done in and work of course.....

Here's to being closer to being DF

Wey Hey - Signature update the debt is now £9,125.

Only managed to pay £900c off this month because of having to pay the overspend on holiday but even so that is a good reduction.

The good news is that the Halifax card is now cleared :T:T. I'm sure that there will be a little residual interest next month but it's gone. The MBNA card is also clear and the Barclaycard (holiday spending) will be cleared as well. Nice feeling getting statements with a zero balance on.

So we are now left with two cards, both 0%, RBS and Tesco with £5.7k on one and £3.3k on the other. I'm intending to target the RBS one first since the interest free end date is beginning of November however we'll be throwing £1300 at least at it a month so we should be on target.

It feels so lovely only (listen to me) having two cc debts rather than the 5+ (I think :o) we had at the start. Here's working to me posting being DF before the date in November when I first posted on this thread.

Onwards, lots to do today. One load on washing on the line, another in the machine in the hope it gets dry this am.
