 NO wonder RBS are in the mess they are in.
Rang them this am to see what offers they could do me and I was told that were was nothing they could offer, and if I wanted to take advantage of the current offers I could open a new CC account. What a way to look after their customers....makes me so cross....particuarly with the headlines at present.
Anyway the RBS card balance is now zero :j and it will stay that way. I will wait a couple of months to see if I get something sent through automatically. If not the account will be closed.
They did offer to take me through the application process for a new card (the same as the one I currently have !!) however I don't feel inclined to give them any more business.
Currently thinking is that I clear the IF card and then apply for another 0% card (Virgin perhaps) in OH's name - thinking of the credit checking process etc - in a few months time.

Ok apologies for earlier - I'm over my rant at RBS.
Fairly productive day off:
Done one MS in person and another unscheduled phone one. I've one booked for tomorow, Thursday and one for next week.
Made progress with our claim for getting our conservatory repaired. Its covered by insurance but its just not got to the top of the list to get sorted. Well it has now. So I've organised some quote for repair and i need to complete the claim form when its arrives.
I need to find an extra £50 for school trip money this month - last month of a double whamming after that one payment only which I have budgeted for. The £50 should come from the MS I've already done and the few bits outstanding.
I've still got a few bits listing on ebay but I'm not sure they will all sell. I need to have another route through and see what I can find to list. I need to keep going with it however much of a pain it is at times.
NO progress on the MB front. I need Betfair to unlock my account now that they have had the doc's to show that I'm over 18! Its been nearly 3 weeks since I first took the plunge and now I can't even do anything. Very frustrating.
As well as generating as much extra income this month as possible I need to find an extra £46 for my DS2's passport renewal. Last year I took this cost (myself and DD) out of the holiday fund however that fund proved to be short of money eventually and therefore with the euro as it is presently I don't want to raid this account unless I have too. So no pressure and only an extra £300 to find this month !!!Working Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -
Ok another apology coming I'm afraid.
Feeling really down and demotivated. Spent my day off in front of the PC mystery shopping, juggling finances, ebaying etc etc trying to make a few quid here and there.
We've got a big debt and it has and will continue to require a big effort to clear it this year.
Why am I low? I guess its a combination of events. The dodgy ebay buyer, the row (ish!) with RBS, the weather mucking around with the schedule, the relentless of finding the extra £, friends going off on hols next week and us here with no money, tiredness, never having enough time with kids or OH - the list is endless. Spreading myself too thin I think.
Whilst at the same time all of the above is contributing to the fact that I am putting on weight - meaning I've less and less clothes that fit - usual cycle here as well
I know we are in a good & bad position. Good incomes / big debt and I really am thankful for what I've got.
Its all just got to me today for some reason. I'll take some time to think, step back and reflect, regroup and get my motivation back. It will come back I know, its just dipped severely when I was least expecting it too.
Sorry to bore you all - thanks:oWorking Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -
I think we all have periods when its all a wee bit overwhelming for one reason or another.
I was at a family wedding at the weekend & just feel so flat now.
Spent a lot of money I couldent really afford so that hasent helped & I sometimes feel I will never be out of debt.
I pay some off & then have to add to it for one reason or another ~ my problem is I really cant afford to have any kind of life:eek:
Life is really pants sometimes.

Why don't you re-read your first post and then you can see how far you've come. Then a glass of wine and a bubble bath, if you feel like it a good book to read as well.
You are in the final stages of the debt busting marathon so its no wonder you are fatigued by it all. The weather is really ticking me off. HTH

Definitely normal to feel this way - I have huge peaks and troughs.....the highs when I get through another £10000 milestone, and then the realisation that I have still got a bloody long way to go and can't afford the things that others take for granted.....still, and that although I know I don't need them, sometimes I just want them!!!
In your case, you have had a success - paying off RBS - followed by that knowledge that you still have a long way to go.....
I hate that feeling, I hate the way it makes me bitter, jealous, etc.......but in a couple of years I won't feel that way because I won't have that debt - and so I know I just have to put up with it.
It is like the worst case of PMT - you KNOW you don't want to behave or feel that way, but you can't do anything about it -just have to let it take its course and you will feel better in a couple of days.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0
