  • I guess if the whole amount is then at 0% that sort of makes sense. Reference applying for a new 0% deal they do take into account the number of cards, balance v limt etc etc. I'm still flabergasted that we got a 0% deal recently since I'm not sure I'd have given us one?!

Have you tried posting on the CC board. I once did and got some sound advise from the CC experts - mind you with the size/number of mine I should be shouldn't I!!

  • OK drafted two letters to start the reclaiming bank/credit card process. Not big bucks in the scheme of things but it really does all help. One claim against IF for £53 (4 lates payments in 07/08) and one claim against RBS £58 (2 going overdraft charges in 2008). As I said not mega bucks if/when they go through a £100 of debt I won't have to pay again.

Moved the MB on and opened another betting exchange account (Betfair are giving me a serious headache with proof of age stuff for some bizaar reason!). So fingers crossed I will be able to kick this little venture off tomorrow.

Picked up a MS for Friday and one booked for Monday so pleased with that.

Stuff listing on ebay - not sure any will sell but I would loved to be proved wrong.

Ordered the D/washer  so a little dent in the savings now.

  • Thanks for the advice, I will post on the CC board and see if they have any advice for me.

Sounds like everythings going swimmingly in the WH household! I will watch your MB with interest might have to get my head round that myself.

When does the Dishwasher arrive and whose on washing up duty till then lol!

Ive sold quite a few bits on Amazon this month and 4 of my e-bay items sold Ive got to list some more this week - don't want to lose the momentum! and surprisingly I lost 1.5 lb this week at SW - that was a surprise I can tell you! 1.5 down, another 48.5 to go!

Hope you're enjoying half term, my 2 are off skating tomorrow, i'm not skating - bad back (phew!) cgx

  • I think we are in control in the WF household are present CG.

DIshwasher doesn't arrive until next week so another 5 days of washing up. The kids are presently thinking its great fun, not too many broken dishes at present, but I'm sure the novelty will wear off when we are back at work/school next week. Need to get the old one to the dump at the weekend.

We've had a quiet halfterm so far, and a cheap one. Mind you I think giving its a rainy dank day here that a trip to the cinema is on the cards today. just booked that at £23.60 which isn't a lot I know but when you are watching every penny. I'm sure they'll enjoy though which is the important thing. I need them to get rooms tidied before they go - bribery gets you everywhere!

  • Had a fairly good day today.

Took the kids to the cinema with lunch totaled £30. Its in the budget so I don't feel so bad. I guess you get used to not spending so when you are spending it comes hard.

I've still got some bits listing on ebay with a few watchers but I will be suprised if they sell. Listed some stuff on Music Magpie so I'm just waiting for the stuff be be sent through.

Got a phone call ref a MS today - very suprised - since it was a company I'd registered for but never picked up any jobs from and to be honest I'd stopped checking. Seems easy enough and its right on the door step so it was a no brainer when she asked if I was interested in doing it :D . I've lost track a little of whats due in from MSing so I need to check out what I've not yet been paid for. I also need to keep a log for the tax return as well. All jobs to add to the list.

Finally bitten the bullet and had a go at matched betting  . Very scary but needs must if I'm to get us DF asap. I'm taking it very slowly and in very small steps so that I really understand what I am doing. Planning to try and place one bet a day and see how much I can generate in the next month. Ideally I would like to have made £50.. we'll see.

I've discovered that I like to do something tangible every day towards reducing the debt. Whether its picking up a MS, listing on ebay, making the debt repayments anything that helps me feel that I'm making a difference to the horrible debt we've got. Its a little sad but getting DF really does take over.

Right enough wallowing, time to stop and chill for an hour or two

  • I'm the same with the daily thing, its finally sunk in, and with OH too, that little things really do make a difference. I sold another book last night on Amazon, OH asked how much profit I'd made and I told him £1.5o after postage. He said how can I be bothered with such piddly amounts, and I told him that as they all go into a seperate account they all add up, and this month ive had 2 payments from amazon for £6 & £32 and have another £22 to come, plus the £19 ive made on Green met, £4 Quidco, £40 ebay and £95 MS thats nearly £210 thats been paid of card 1 just by saving all those piddly bits, and making an effort rather than just throwing stuff away! Rant over lol!

Glad you had a good time at the pictures, what did you see?, mine enjoyed skating and then went back to their mates so a nice quiet day for me with a visit from my ma & pa so lovley. Haha don't worry about the bribary - mine had to clean their rooms to earn their skating money! :) cgx

  • Love the rant:D . You are so right it is the little things which do make such a difference and those piddling little amounts do add up. My OH is exactly the same but now realises that its all worth the effort when another couple of hundred is paid off the debt.

We went to see Hotel for Dogs  . It was OK quite funny in places and given we've a young dog here some of it really resonated with us. The kids thought it was great which was what I wanted.

  • Reached the end of a long but actually quite relaxing week.

Three MS's done/or being done which is good. A few ebay bits sorted but nothing major done on that front apart from a few parcels being posted etc.

My matched betting adventure has started. I'm treading very cautiously until I'm sure I've got the hang of it. I'll post next week on sucess so far.

Looking forward to payday next week and starting to pay off the IF card. The balance is currently £1956 and I'm hoping to be able to pay a whacking £1122 off that next week. I am so looking forward to that !!!

The other good news is that I've managed to lose 3lb of the 35lb I'm aiming to lose by the time i'm DF.

So all in all good progress all round.
