LOL we call it just in time cleaning in this house.

My ironing is under control and although the DS's are getting through huge amounts of clothes in this weather they're mostly tracky bottoms etc which don't require ironing :)

OH and I had a discussion about replacing the home PC. Its most definately giving up the ghost now. I tried using it on Monday and gave up. We've agreed to get one but not until May when my exam is out of the way and we can save up for it - how novel it that!

I also suggested to OH if he any bright ideas as how to pay for the wine he was welcome to share them. For a brief, very brief moment he did look guilty but the probelm was then pased back to me to solve. I'm holding in reserve the cashback payouts just to see what he comes up with.

Waiting for the Tesco shop to be delivered before I tackle revision :o maybe.

I hope everyone has had a good Easter.

Last day of my holiday today and then I hand the batton over to OH for a couple of days. I seem to have nothing but spend money this holiday. Most of it is accounted for (but not quite all :o) however as always now we're are all cautious with how we spend money. Mr T vouchers have been invaluable and have given us two meals out which is a real treat for us.

I'm loving using a credit card properly for the first time in my life. The Tesco card is now the one being used for everyday purchases which is really cranking up the points - which I'm also loving. Its actually chainging how the finances operate to a small degree. That is I spend on the card and pay it off from the pots of savings (budgets) that I have spread around. I think I may need to close some of these pots which are current accounts (therefore no interest earners) and transfer them to savings account. I'll ponder and action when my exam is over . Yes I have started revising as well

DS1's birthday is done and dusted and under budget which is FAB. DS2's is at the end of the month but that shouldn't be too bad. No idea what he wants at present (apart from the entire Argos catalogue) but I'm sharing his party (he's 6 so still at the party age!) with a friend to keep costs down.

Progress is moving fast on getting 'stuff' cleared out of the garage. Most of it is being passed on to family, friends, charity, freecycle or the dump. Nice feeling though having space.

Renewed by car insurance. I can't believe its a year since I changed my car. Beat the renewal by £40 plus £75 cashback tracking as well. That should help pay for the overspends acquired so far this month - case of wine, paint stuff for the outside of the house, and haircuts for DD and myself this afternoon. :o This is a real indulgence but neither of us have had our hair done for ages. We were going to a local college (very MSE DFW stylie which was great but quite time consuming and with studying etc we've just not had the time) but I've decided that my mane certainly can be put up with no longer. So hence the haircuts which for me will not only be colour (to hide the natural highlights) but a radical cut as well .

Haha that made me smile - I too have natural highlights! Some would say i have more 'highlights' than hair colour! honestly it terrible, i'm only 43 and so grey its awful!! ive got natural curly hair and it doesnt show too badly when im O natural but I like to straighten it and the roots - well, lets just say I stickto my 6 week appointments like clockwork!

I do all my shopping on a CC (also Mr T :)) then pay it off in full each month, it seems to work but it is easy to overspend we are already approaching our £700 budget this month and still 3 weeks to go till payday!

Glad you had a nice Easter, we had a fab party complete with Easter bonnet parade! My wine budget - which I don't have by the way lol! was completely anhialated!
good luck with the revision, onwards and upwards! cgx

We're the same age CG and my natural highlights are just a pain. DD and I are so excited about the haircuts today - sad isn't it.

I think it's the shock of using a cc positively for the first time ever which has shocked me. I must have done so before, but it's too far in the past to remember. All my experience of cc is of using them with guilt and seeing the balances near the limit, plus the monthly repayments increase. All in the past now.

My wine and food budget are under extreme pressure this month. Petrol should be ok this month for a change. OH needs to do his expenses this month which may cover the overspends, well some of them!

Off to domestic bliss en famille and squeeze in some revision....

Ive been having positive card use for 2 years now and the points are great :) I switch between 2 cards M&S and Tesco, and use Tesco points for treats & pressies and M&S points for clothes & school uniform!

Im a point collecting diva! I must have every loyalty card going, this weekend I won an extra 1000 points at Boots - thats the 2nd time ive won so £20 points for me :) so Ive bought a guilt free new hairdryer 'cos my old one blew up (flames, soot everything!) last week

gotta love them points :) now get some revision done! cgx

Wow You certianly are the point cc diva. Loving it. I don't get that many and now have only 3 cc's. Tesco which is the main spending one, rbs which has the last of the debt on it at 0percent and b/card which Oh still uses as main spending card until hus new card from tesco arrives.

I forgot to say earlier ds2 was delighted when he got a letter yesterday saying he could start Beavers next week. For once it wasn't the extra outgoings which worried me but the thought of Monday nights being another activity night. Kids don't you just love em....

I had an epiphany this am ref health, fitness and weath - driven by a route through my wardrobe...I'll post later when I've had my hair done and done some revision....mind you I've just done some ironing does that count??!?
