The good news.....
My car passed its first MOT. I've never owned a car that didn't need one before and I'mm not sure I will again however it passed and the cost was minimal so lovely.
OH got his bonus :T:T:T
The bad news...
We're not technically DF yet. Overspending on petrol for the last couple of months (price rises and OH having to fill two tanks in one month) meant the budget was shot. Rather than keep borrowing from the next months budget I took the hit from OH's bonus this month (£400:() and increased the budget going forward. This reduced the amount available however what was available did pay off the car purchase. Therefore our debt has only reduced by a small amount this month. If we don't overspend then we should be DF next month:):)
The other bit of good news is that with the bonus I cleared the Tesco CC (which was at 0%) so is now nil and used the rest to pay off the car purchase (RBS at 0%. This means the Tesco card is now clear and is now becoming our everyday card to enable us to crank up the points big style. I managed to activate it today (its been sitting dormant since it arrived last year) and OH has booked the holiday car hire for the summer with it.
So the end of this long and drawn out post is that we still owe £1474 which is on RBS at 0%. I've put the petrol budget up, the mortgage payments have gone up as we've decreased the term by a year, council tax is up and our own 'personal spending' budget are going up (OH's to fund cricket and mine to fund clothes for me:o, ski trips for meand other nice to haves).
The mega good news is that I'm now off for a week and a half so I am going to kick back, chill and have fun with the kids (another trip to London planned as well)..wish me luck it could be a long week!

That made me smile CG I'm in maintenance :rotfl::rotfl:
First day off today was challenging at times. The kids were finding their feet (aka arguing) whenever they could and it rained most of the day however it was a productive day:- Study cleared out and books taken to the charity shop, friends and neighbour. A lot have been on GreenMet for ages but haven't sold. So spring cleaning arrived in the WHDFW today.
- I passed on an outgrown bike on Freecycle and some other bits which have been cluttering the garage for a long time
- Checked all the school shoes out and thankfully they all fit at present. I'm not sure they'll all last until summer but at least there a bit of time.
- Checked out the DS's school shorts. Apart from misplacing a pair of DS2's which fit I found out DS1's don't fit. Plus he needs a new school jumper and DD needs some new bits of uniform. Lets hope the budget holds out.
- Finally sorted out DS1's birthday presents (its Saturyday) from good old Amazon
. I had to pay for delivery to ensure the bits arrives on time however my fault and still cheaper than Argos etc. I also paid with the Tesco CC which I'm loving thinking of all those extra points.
Off to London tomorrow with kids and in laws. Train tickets bought and paid for, everything else covered by Mr T vouchers. Snacks and drinks bought and ready to be packed. A long and tiring but great fun and making memories......
