Dd and I keep looking in the mirror when we pass. Haircut budget will have to increase from now on since it's been one of the things to give as we inched towards DFW. No more as we approach being Df and are essentially on maintence we need to ensure all costs are covered. It will mean leas free cash each month but hey it doesn't half feel great today.

I've got to find the money for the overspends though this month which remain: wine, paint and haircuts. If it's not found we won't get df this month. Now that's a worry.

Back at work today which was lovely :)

OH took the kids to the cinema and the golden arches and bought some sweets as well so not a cheap day in the least. But fun and nice for him to do with the kids. He also got a lot of jobs done in the garden so he was happy as well.

It was good being back in the cut and thrust at work. I've organised more or less the summer holidays with childcare, both of which have come in under budget which is great. I think I need to reduce OH's childcare vouchers slightly which will help.

I've upped the haircuts budget to cover me getting mine and DD's done fairly regularly now. It was in a bad way and I'm not going to let it get that way again.

Took the hound out for a trot this am which was lovely and I went for a run (joggy/walk) after work as well. Its part of my new regime to get fit and healthy. I was shocked to discover yesterday that I had 7, yes 7, pairs of casual trousers/jeans in the wardrobe that don't fit:eek: Now given that I spend most of last year clearing out my wardrobe how can I not fit into 7 pairs of trousers.

Now I know that I've got my exam in the few days time however that is no excuse. So the new regime has started now. Plus I need something to take over from debt busting when we eventually get DF:o

Wish me luck I'm going to need it......:)

What a wonderful weekend, the weather has been super lovely. OH took this as a green light to get us all working to get loads of stuff done outside - painting the outside table and chairs, front door, pruning everything in sight in the garden and trying to bring the weeds back under some sort of control. The rest of us were roped in and we all had a fab time just enjoying being outside in the sun, kids playing out getting stuff done.

The down side of this was was extra paint stuff was required, plus some compost etc etc. Overspending is what it equates too :(. So far this month we've overspent by £253 which includes, wine, haircuts, paint stuff and bits. Not good in any way shape or form. Haircut aside which was desperately needed none of it was extravagent (well maybe the wine?!:o) just stuff what was needed. There's no extra money coming in this month so this overpsend will have to come out of next months budget. This of course means that it makes things hard to be DF next month unless I cam come up with a plan.....

    I'm working on it......

On the fitness front I've been out running, taken the dog for a trot several times over the weekend and done a shed load of gardening so I'm Ok and on track. This week I'm aiming to achieve the following:
    • Go out for a run in the am 3 times this week - this will be a hard challenge since I struggle in the am's
    • Ditch the booze in the week (makes me sound like I've a problem doesn't it :o but over Easter the odd beer or glass of wine add up)
    • Get loads of revision done for my exam next week  and again
    • Take the dog out for a trot in the evening as often as I can
    • Come up with a plan for the finances this month!!
    • Most of all staying positive and focused and look forward to the studying being over next Tuesday night :)

we decided on a 3-fold/benefit plan to save money re. wine budget in our house.

we don't drink during the week (mon-thurs), only at weekends. a) it saves money, b) i don't have a fuzzy head ever during the week and c) loses weight due to less alcohol drunk, and therefore less snacking too.

took a bit of getting used to, but now it's the norm - and we are having a drink at the weekend x
