Working Hard Debt Diary - Here goes

I'm quite excited as well. I'd really like to for the whole family to go as the kids would really enjoy it I am sure. That said if I get the chance to go on my own well I work blinking hard don't I....I'll have to start saving hard as well. I'm going to start my own ski fund
I never in a million years thought I would say that...
OH got paid today which is always a good day. I don't get paid until Friday but I was able to sort out the CC payment and the debt now stands at a fantastic all time wonderful brilliant low of:
£1618:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
althought techincally since OH's boys toy is on the RBS card at 0% waiting to be paid off this adds another £3680 to the total:(:(.
Even the two figures together I would have given such a lot for when we started this journey so I'm pleased with this, oh yes... When OH gets his bonus next month I'm going to use it to clear the Tesco card (£1618) and pay off a large chunk of the RBS card. This is because the 0% deal on the Tesco card runs out on the 25/3 and the RBS card has a longer 0% deal. Plus I want to use the Tesco card as my everyday card to collect the points. These points are coming in really useful on my trips to London. Such a fab way to have great days out at very little cost.
We also had an excellent bit of news today. OH won £200 in the CC draw again:D:D:D We won last month
. He muttered something about being embarassed to take it, well you can imagine my comments but he did agree that it was a lovely lovely suprise and thank you very much. Now we could be really good and pay is straight off the CC or........... we could use some of the money to go out on Saturday night, just the two of us. (DD is at a friends for a sleepover, DS1 is on a Cub camp and DS2 is going to my Mum's for a sleepover). Sounds like a plan doesn't it plus OH is telling me I should order the bag I'm after (I'm really really not a fashionista in any way shape or form). I'm going to look in a local shop that stocks the make tomorrow and see what I think before doing anything rash...
All in all a pretty good day, work aside of course which was the usual and snow threatening yet again. Off to do a signature update now :cool:Working Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -

The bag is by Orla Kiely. I've seen them around fo years but they were always way out of my price range. TBH I've never paid what I call huge amounts for clothes/shoes/bags etc I've never really had the £ even pre LBM when I/we were in denial.
Definately going out on Saturday even if just for a beer or two. Feel like celebrating and OH and I don't get out much and with just the two of us even less so bring it on.

Your welcome IMD borrow away
I've nearly ordered it but I want to check the shop in town tomorrow in case they've got it in stock since I don't want to pay delivery if I don't have too. See MSE DFW ways are now engrained..:)Working Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -

are there no deals or cashback offers online?
also, if you buy in store, would you be cheeky enough to ask them what their 'very best' price would be?;)0 -
Its done the bag has been ordered. I went into the shop in town but they didn't have the one I wanted. However I did another trawl through the cashback, discount, shopbot sites and managed to get the bag £16 cheaper than I would have done last night. I still feel a little guilty but only a touch now.
Off to get some chores done, knock a meal together to tonight, sort out forms etc for DD's ski trip, write a few cheques, make a couple of phone calls and enjoy my day off -:cool:Working Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -

On the DFW front I have:
- Picked up a MS to do this afternoon - very nice since not that much effort, no travel, lovely
- Spoken to our mortgage people and got the cost of knocking 1 year off our term. An extra £80 per month but I can still over pay the £500 per month so I'm effectively overpaying £580 pm extra. I don't want to jump into this with two feet and find we are stretching ourselves so I might opt for a six month reduction to see how that feels and go from there. Discuss with OH tonight.
- Applied and got agreement to a Nationwide CC. This one will be use purely when on holiday since they don't charge transaction charges like our existing cards do. This cost us a small fortune last year since we tend to us a CC to put all our holiday spending on and pay it off from the holiday savings pot when we get back. I know its very early but at least its done.
now to whip up a meal for tonight, and nip into town to get some bits done.
