I know IMD but I guess there are worse things...
I know we are at the end but it doesn't seem like yesterday that we were at the start of this journey. Whilst our debt was a little smaller (but remember I not including OH car loan - paid for out of his work car allowance) our learning was all about how to control our spending, how to budget correctly, how to sell on ebay (!) etc etc.
Much as I wished for a magic wand to wave away our debt many many times the reality was that we had to go through the 'pain' to gain real understanding of where we'd gone wrong.

Yes handbag - not something I usually go for...I tend to have the same one on the go the whole time and the one I saw was lovely. I didn't buy it, despite DS1 telling me a the time to buy it, and OH told me when I got home that I should have bought it, I have so far resisted the temptation the purchase it or similar on line....
...I think its the years of only buying what is absolutely necessary for everyone that even thinking about buying something that I view as frivolous is hard to cope with.....Working Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -
We are on the same wave length! My fave black bag gave up the ghost in Bulgaria. It takes something for me to admit I need a new one but yes I do and ive spotted a fab replacement which OH told me to get yesterday but ive written it down for him and given him Quidco instructions pointing out mothers day is just around the corner! Subtle or what! But if I can get it guilt free then more the better
Well done on the running too, i'm back to the gym tomorowcgx

LOL ref the handbag. Trouble is that I can't seem to view it as essential, however I'm sure others would disagree. Mind you 2 things are definately putting me off
The oven is playing up, keep defaulting to 160 which is fine if that's the temp you want! It's been playing up for a while now but it seems to be getting worse. We may have to pay for repairs and/or a new oven.
The Pc is in it's last dying throws. OH was just trying to do something on it and it crashes and was then followed by a few items crashing round the study. Trouble is we know it's on it's last legs, I've been using DD's laptop for months. That's £600 for a new base unit
So as you can see I won't be buying a new bag anytime soon unless I take up matched betting again?

why does it keep crashing maybe if you say some of the technical things i can ask my oh hes a computer engineer ... if its fixable and worthwile it might be better than buying a new one xI AM A MONEY MAGNET, THEY ARE MAKING MORE MONEY FOR ME AS WE SPEAK:pMIKES MOB, DFW NERD 1071, DFW LHS 132!MIRACLES HAPPEN I'VE SEEN IT WITH MY OWN EYES. Thanks HTGDF for the advice. Its been fixed several times already and after having it for six years I think it really is at the last chance saloon. Its been limping along for many months and has been taken back to factory settings several times last year. OH uses it to 'play' a complicated PC prog/game and it doesn't have the ability to cope with it. We know it needs replacing and I think we'll just replace the brains rather than everything else. I would rather OH's bonus was used to pay for this rather than a boys toy but I'm letting it go
. It will have to wait until April though since I'm not giving up getting DF in March
.

:oIts all still limping along IMD and it needs to continue for a while longer. I've not got a clue what a new oven will cost so I'm not even going there for a while - it works at 160:o so all meals will be adjusted accordingly.
As for the PC well that does need something doing about it sooner but it will have to wait until April. Unless something completely unforseen comes out of the woodwork next months debt payment is being made to bring us to the tecnhically DF point:D.
On the very positive front I was back in work today hearing everyone talking about skiing. DD having had a lesson at a snowdome last week (and loved it) and us watching it on the Olympics, and everyone having gone and had a fab time, and Hypno deciding to take it up again, I though hey thats on my list to do....
OH has done it before and liked it but its always been way out of our league in terms of cost. However perhaps not next year...I figure when we are DF it should be easily savable. The kids would LOVE it:cool: Plus a friend at work suggested that if we didn't do it as a family I could go on a girls ski trip :cool:. Something to get motivated about in terms of fund raising when I'm back in the MB/Ebaying/MSing when my course finishes! The only way its going to happen though is if its saved and paid for not CC'd in any way shape or form.
...and no bag ordered yet, not even thought about today, at all.:TWorking Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -
OMG WH!!!! You will love skiing!!!!!! You must do it!!!!! Thats better than a handbag anyday and something fab to save for - we are talking about a catered chalet in Charmonix for next year (lets cat out of bag
) There were 28 of us this year so we could easily fill one!
I'm all excited again nowcgx
