  • Phoned Tesco's and checked when the end date for the 0% deal was. I can't believe its a year since we got that deal anyway the end date is the 22/3 which co-incides very nicely with our DF date. So fingers crossed I don't have to do anything with the relatively small balance on there at present just pay it off!

    A day of studying beckons.....

    :pStressed me .....................!!

I've was just tidying the memory stick where I keep my spending diary, finance planner, budget etc etc when I've managed to lose this months spreadsheet. I can't believe it. I've got everything tracked as far as the 25/1 but I've input a load of stuff onto the new one and updated the forecasts etc etc etc  and double . Its means that I am going to have to backtrack. Whilst its not too long there were a few complex bits and bobs that I am giong to have to remember!!

:mad:and again so that I can feel better:o

Everything back to normal now on the spending diary front - what sort of wally was I then? I think I just deleted the file:o.

Waiting for the Quidco payment to hit my debt busting account so I can pay off the last few bits from Xmas. Mind you I'v just noticed another £70 thats been paid eventually (since April 09) but that won't come through until the end of the month. That won't help the DF either since a case of wine was delivered today :o.

Nothing much happening on the DF just plodding along until next payday, thankfully its a short month!

  • There must be something is in the air with PC's at present. I had a real crisis on Thursday night when my OU assignment file got corrupted and no amount of effort could retrieve it. I had to rewrite the entire thing which luckily I'd printed off the day before to give it a final cold read before submitting it. My fault entirely but just what I didn't need.

A fairly busy few days on the debt busting front. Three steps forward and two back I feel, as follows:
    • Water authority sent us a regular bill showing the credit which we got before Xmas and some other credits which I didn't understand. Phoned them up when I got the bill and asked for an explanation..I don't want them to be chasing me for money. The girl I spoke to couldn't answer the question so they are phoning me back.
    • Since they've also overcharged us for the last 10 years I wanted to ascertain what the real monthly bill would be without the extra payment we've been made. The answer was that our monthly bill will drop from £46 to £35. We think perhaps we may be owed a little more but knowing our luck that won't happen...we'll see.
    • Bought a railcard and a train ticket to take the kids to London in half term. This is a real sign of the times since I couldn't have done this last year because I couldn't have afforded it. We're clearly going to spend our time the MSE DFW way. A visit to a free museum and lunch care of Tesco vouchers will be the way. The train ticket I've paid for out of this months entertainment budget (well the entire budget :o is now gone on this) and the railcard from my expenses money when it comes through.
    • Planning to book another trip in the Easter holidays which will hopefully be cheaper since I'll have booked it more in advance and it will be making use of the railcard. Its very exciting to be able to do some nice stuff.
    • DD needs her spending money for the ski trip. My Mum and my inlaws have given her some money and she has saved some as well so I've not got too much to find. I've not quite got my head around it yet...?
    • The big news is that OH has finally found a car to purchase . I know but I need to let it go its what he wants to spend his imminent bonus on. I just don't get cars at all so I don't get this but as anyone who has trawled through my diary will know my OH and cars :(:):(. He dragged us to see his target vehicle on saturday and claims he's not made his mind up yet...but I know the signs too well. So i'm planning to pay for it with the overdraft and transfer it to our RBS card which has just sent through a 0% offer and its now clear. This will be cleared when OH's bonus is paid in March.
Hopefully this week will be a litte quieter than last week and I can get back in control of everything finance, house and study wise .....:)

  • OH decided not to make an offer on the sports car he saw at the weekend. You could have knocked me over when I got the text however tonight he shared that its not the car purchase which is in doubt its the make/model of car that he is unsure about :(. I really don't get cars!

I need to have a fresh look at the bank charging reclaim thing. We're not owed much £200 max over several accounts but its worth a punt to try and claim it I think. Much get done this week.

A few bils have come in this weeks for sports membership etc so I need to sort those out tomorrow plus DD's ski trip pocket money. So I need to find that from somewhere......the joys !!

I might get a bit of rest tomorrow :rotfl:

  • No rest today so far I've:
    • paid out a shed load of money for kids & OH sports subscriptions (cricket) and DS's judo
    • Found the money for DD's ski trip spending money - borrowed it from the kids acctivites account. Quite a bit of the money she's got from G/parents and she has saved a little herself
    • Sorted out the new gas/elec supplier. Cancelled the dd to the old one and got a note of the new amount which is significantly lower. This I feel is wrong but once they get our meter readinsg regularly I am sure that I can up it. What I don't want is to owe them a load of cash.
    • Chased the cashback on the above (£60 :)) and noticed £70 waiting to be paid from Quidco at the end of the month :). This unless anything goes wrong or gets overspend between now and then will go off the debt next month
    • Undersand the water bill we got through. No extra money owed to us :( that would have been too good to be true but confirmation that the monthly dd goes down by £9 pm :)
    • Not done any/much studying today :o:o
Fingers and everything else crossed we'll be within £373 of being technically DF once we are paid this month. Unfortunately I can't magic up the £373 between now and then so we'll have the wait until we're paid in March. Blimey I never thought I/we'd be saying that.
