Just catching up with the Fred as I haven't had chance to log on since early in the week.
Piggers condolences; may he sleep well.
HB gentle (((HUG))) for Kelpie; hope he's ok now.
Just trying to get the [STRIKE]midden[/STRIKE] bungalow vaguely presentable ready for Bessie's arrival tomorrow. She's just staying for one night - I believe her Mama is taking her own Mum out somewhere nice.
Been awake since Mr Wolf head-butted me at 02:40 this morning, so am not entirely firing on all cylinders. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
I'm here and sad yet again, OH is on about Christmas presents, I really don't know what I want / need or at his suggestion would like............I have plenty of everything, I was again in tears, he has now left the house to get petrol and wash his car, so 'you can calm down' I did suggest a bird table but got told its not expensive enough.........................just cannot win....
.
Hugs. A bird table and a year's supply of nuts, seeds and fat balls? RSPB membership? A weekend away to be taken later? Bird table and charity donation? Or just a big slap for equating evidence of spending huge sums with affection......sorry. Pity he can't value your gratitude for having all you need.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -

Anybody know why perfect, lovely white lights and silver tinsel have to be 'improved' (obliterated?) by the addition of multiple strings of brightly coloured ones flashing like a migraine, dangled over the 2ft tree, the TV stand, the floor/skirting boards (?????!!!!!!!), the musical instruments and at every opportunity to put them into my eyeline (but never the giant window)?
Maybe next year, I'll be able to decorate how I like it. Just for once. With a real tree, not 1/3 of a broken plastic tree that should have been chucked away (I put it in the bin two years ago, !!!!!!) rammed into a plant pot filled with compost I hadn't opened because I was going to use it to plant some more things after Xmas. And is now cut wide open, spilling the remainder over the patio.
But he's looking happy. As is the Idiot Cat, currently snoring in a mound of tinsel. So I'll grit my teeth, smile - and make sure my sunglasses are within reach.
Present buying: None. He doesn't want anything. So there's no point in my getting him something, as he'll moan rather than look happy about it. And it's not as if he CBA to get me anything, anyhow; it obviously requires too much thought to consider what one's partner might like or might feel to be left with nothing.
So no wrapping required. Or shopping. Which is probably a result in the long run.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
However...as Himself has cheerily declared 'I like lights' (the sets festooned about [strike]his pit[/strike] the studio did give me somewhat of a hint about this), I detest getting up in the morning and he is depressive at the best of times, never mind during winter, and will spend so long indoors that he can't handle normal levels of daylight, I've just bought 'US' (myself, probably) a Christmas present as it was twenty quid cheaper than when I last looked at it -
A fancy (but not all bells and whistles, we don't need aromatherapy or radio, for Heaven's sake - and I'm not paying for fancy fabric covering the base and a glass shade when plastic will last longer with Himself and cats about) wake up light.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Not a bad day although not enough hours, energy or motivation in it:
[STRIKE]Double check all cards[/STRIKE], gather all debris and put away. Still rather a lot scattered around the lounge, but other than finding 'special' cards for some close family, and sending e-cards, I'm pretty sure they are all done.
[STRIKE]Finish rubbing down newel posts, banister rail and upstairs doors.[/STRIKE]Team effort. Ready to paint doors tomorrow or Monday. Mr N has put up the wall-mounted stair rail and some pictures. Coat rack goes back up tomorrow so that should relieve clutter in the bedroom.
[STRIKE]Do more of a report.[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Continue lists.[/STRIKE]Need to get a grip on this.
[STRIKE]Blitz kitchen.[/STRIKE]
Persuade Mr N to come into town and look for "new" I.e. hopefully charity shop hall table to replace small rickety table and long telephone seat/drawer unit, thus saving space and clutter. Nah, that wasn't going to happen. Monday he says as it will be less crowded.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Knob'ed has just reaffirmed the 'I don't want anything' spiel.
Oh well, that means I've just spent seventy quid on a present for myself [shrugs].
At least I'll have something to open for a change...I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
morning
Well, the house is a tip, but the Christmas preparations are pretty much on targetCards are all written and posty cards posted; presents are all bought - except for one pack of B***ley's truffles which I might have eaten whilst watching Strictly last night
Very good they were too, and not pricey, so I may buy a few more packs as little extras for folk. (I deliberately didn't buy any selection boxes as they NEVER survive the quality control process …
) Mr T delivery is booked for 19th Dec so I can forget about that. Still cards to deliver, presents to wrap and tree to put up - but I was delighted to find I have an extra week to do all this. Brain fog = been working on the assumption that Christmas is only a week away, when it's actually TWO weeks away! You do not know how stress-busting this discovery was :rotfl: And how confused my Dad was when I kept telling him that next Sunday is the 23rd Dec … bless him, at 83 he's still more 'with it' than I have been for years
Better attack Mount Washmore today if nothing else. We need clean clothes for work!
Hugs, sticks and spoons piled by the door - help yourselves as required.

up, showered. DW, TD and WM all emptied. 2nd WM load out on line. Rubbish out, recycling out, Rabbit hutch cover on line to dry off as I'm cleaning out the hutch after breakfast.
Hope you all have the blue skies and sunshine I'm looking at.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Really struggling to keep up in life and with Fred - will read back asap. Have noticed while paging down how kind everyone's been about Kelpie. He's okay but something's not right and the vet's agreed I should put his pain relief dosage up and then just watch and wait. Not sure what to do about his hydrotherapy appointment on Wednesday, so I need to talk to the vet nurse about it. I won't be able to let the other person who does some of the sessions take him though - it's either the nurse or no-one.
As for me, I'm all over the place. Fortunately for me OH is in London (actually, he's on the train coming back, but away for another few hours, anyway) so I'm doing all the things he doesn't notice I do when he's not here. If he were, I'd be constantly explaining, debating and then carrying on coping with the chaos. Been busy so far sorting out things in the attic, the cupboard under the front steps, the bedroom, the kitchen and my head.
I'm getting there but I'm frazzled enough to be listening to The Archers Omnibus, which tragically I'm finding soothing. Something's not right.Better is good enough.0 -
aww Honey Bear (((hugs)))
