  • Evening, all.

I have no idea how I've just scraped through the last week unscathed - there have been absolute disasters all week, but each time, I've just managed to scrape through and rescue the situations through being partly a) sensible, b) organised, c) intelligent, but mostly, d) sheer blind luck at the last minute.

The house is looking pretty good at the moment, thanks to Himself presumably getting a bit bored with going back to bed when I leave for work. So I sent him up into the loft to retrieve sparkly tat for tomorrow, although that will probably also involve some judicious application of creative thinking, gaffer tape and [strike]cleaning up after the Idiot Cat demolishes everything within thirty seconds[/strike] the adoption of a positive mindset about the season for the first time in years.

It appears that all flying will consist of this weekend is scooting over the bathrooms and another bout of chucking clothes/shoes that don't make me feel good.

    Which feels weird. Really weird.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

My flylady Secret Santa has arrived. I'm so excited. Thank you. You are all fab.x

The best thing was that our lovely Postie saw that I wasn't in, so he took it to Job 2 (I was at Job 1, some 15 miles away) and left it there as it was then a) safe and b) didn't require me to travel 20 miles to collect it. Bless Royal Mail. Little did he know that DH was actually at home, and could have taken it in!

Morning all. I've had a lie in as the doglets are away on dog share this weekend.

I aim to get moving in a minute. DH is also off and still in bed.
    Have a great day everyone.

Usual lie in cup of coffee consumed in Christmas tree mug because it's December and because I remember where I was, and, more importantly, with whom, when I was given it. I wasn't necessarily meant to keep it though!
TD and DW have been fun and are off.
Looks a bit wild out. Ugh.

    Good morning.

Consuming the second cuppa whilst I make a plan of (in)action.

DW emptied, WM run. Ironing pile will unfortunately have to be on the list for some point today.

As predicted, this week has been chaos with wallpaper man arriving by 8.30 each morning and everything in the house seems to be in the wrong place and either covered in dust sheets or dust.
wallpapering finished and we are very pleased with it.

[STRIKE]Finish one report and make good progress with another[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Finish cards. I posted all the overseas ones yesterday and most UK ones. I have about 5 to friends that I've written and left open to add a letter.[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Start knitting something I rashly and spontaneously decided to do for a gift for Mr N. [/STRIKE]
Continue with the lists and menu plans I'd started.
    .

    Today:
Double check all cards, gather all debris and put away.
Finish rubbing down newel posts, banister rail and upstairs doors.
    Do more of a report.
    Continue lists.
    Blitz kitchen.
Persuade Mr N to come into town and look for "new" I.e. hopefully charity shop hall table to replace small rickety table and long telephone seat/drawer unit, thus saving space and clutter.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.

Me again. Dailies done and I've scrubbed all the bins and the bin cupboard. Dog marks cleaned off doors and sofa covers washed.

Going to take inspiration from jojo now and sort wardrobe.

I'm here and sad yet again, OH is on about Christmas presents, I really don't know what I want / need or at his suggestion would like............I have plenty of everything, I was again in tears, he has now left the house to get petrol and wash his car, so 'you can calm down' I did suggest a bird table but got told its not expensive enough.........................just cannot win....

    Anyway hoovered downstairs
    Cleaned kitchen window sill
Got pork out of freezer to cook.
