Morning HHD - yes, a lot of different paths being taken considering they all started out on the same one just 9 months ago
DD seems happy with what she's doing and has a vague end game in mind, but we'll see where the next 2 years take her. xx
Hello HG
Lovely to hear from you. She's a great girl and would help anybody out but like I say, won't be taken advantage of and can fight her own corner, which is a pretty good way to be in this day and age. All is well here thank you. Hope you and yours are good. xx 0 -

My friend blamed nights out, but GD told me she hadn't eaten veg in 3 months. I was sworn to secrecy. I sent her back to uni with huge box of fruit and veg and a Tesco voucher.
Well done on the credit card I'm so pleased you, what an achievement. Your pots are now for fun and treats.
Morning CG
I think it's a combination of a few things when they're at Uni isn't it that makes them susceptible to picking up bugs. Not eating properly, late nights, a few too many drinks, stress of studying, it all starts to take it's toll. She's quite conscious of eating healthily but although she's good at baking, she's not so hot on actual cooking. Mind you having said that she keeps it simple with say chicken, potatoes and veg but can't really manage lasagne type things.
Timing is her problem :rotfl: She did pie and chips the other week and had to eat the chips first then the pie 20 minutes later :rotfl:
The fruit and veg question is always the first thing I ask her
and although she assures me she does eat it I'm not totally convinced it's a regular thing.
That's really kind of you to send your GD back with a box and a Tesco Voucher. And to keep Mum about what you were told

When I left 'home' I was too young really - I was at school but had a Saturday job. I literally lived on jacket potato and beans because it was could be done in a microwave and it was cheap:o Like every single day for about 8 months I had the same thing for lunch and dinner :rotfl:“Once you hit rock bottom, that's where you perfectly stand; That's your chance of restarting, but restarting the way.”0

Blimey WB, how old were you, I'm hoping at least 16 if you could work.
Nothing wrong with jacket potato and beans but maybe not for 8 months :rotfl:
You can obviously cook good meals from scratch now from the menus you put up on your diary - did you just teach yourself as you went along? I need somebody to tell me there's still hope for DD

I did Tea, I found a bero book in a charity shop and I taught myself the basics. It's still pretty basic now. I just make it up and hope for the best

Well done WB :T Your menu never seems basic to me and you obviously have a grip on balanced meals which is really important.
I think I'll have a look for a basic cookery book for when DD moves into the house. There's only 3 of them going to be living there so she might be more inclined to try cooking. She says the kitchen in the flat is always a tip, but I have a sneaky suspicion she could well be part of the problem  xx0 -
I'm only at the beginning of your diary but wanted to post and say we have always had a 'joint' account and I was the higher earner for many years - then went PT when we had the children. Now due to medical reasons I am looking at stopping work and know exactly what you mean about DH.
In our joint hills pot tho we have £100 a month for Xmas that is a standing order to a different account. We draw it out in Nov and it covers everything Xmas related.
I am over paying the debt and sorting out the budgeting etc as DH works long hours and has his 'pocket money' from the joint pot.
I find skimming the shopping budget works great! The OS board is great for this. Also there is a thread for OS and poor health which is a great support!
