Morning tea,
It's great your DD can bake and I'm sure with a little practice she'll be fine. My 2 regularly make a stir fry with noodles, spag Bol and shep pie. They've fab with cutting prepping and timing isn't too much of an issue as 1 pot prep.
It finally feels like summer is here to stay! I'm on a mission to try and get washing hung out. Have sorted the logistics and I won't have to try and carry it into garden. Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230 -

I don't think I would get on with virtual pots, so I prefer to have lots of little savings accounts, but I'm still developing my pot system at the moment
. Cash pots would work well for us for petrol, treats, hair cuts etc. But we buy our food online so need money in the bank account to pay for that.
Your cash in envelopes system is obviously working well for you. But with so many things being easier to pay online though, do you ever need to pay any of the money back into your account?
Is it tomorrow that DD is going back? Is she home for the weekend? DS3 only has a week to go at uni, but goodness knows when he'll decide to come home! Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Thanks WB, you too
It's been lovely here today. Doors and windows are open and washing on the line - simple pleasures.

Hi CG
hope you managed to get the washing pegged out safely. I've come to the conclusion DD can cook under the watchful eye of somebody who reminds her that something's in the oven, or the pan is boiling :rotfl: but left to her own devices it's a bit different  She's surviving though and does go shopping every week. I think there's very little takeaway rubbish she eats but I do think she goes for convenience, which is fair enough. xx 0 -

Hi K
I find it too easy to shuffle money in virtual pots but for some reason it's easier to keep hold of my cash - probably because I'm loathe to dip into the pots and also maybe because I have to account for myself on here :rotfl: xx 0 -

Hi HHD, hope you've had a good day at work
It's only my personal spends I have pots for, literally everything else is paid by DD through the bank account. It's been a long time since I've paid any bills, even shopping or petrol etc. with cash.
DD is planning to go back tomorrow but she's still not well. She seemed to get better a couple of days ago, but has gone downhill again. She's finished all lectures but has 2 assignments to get in which she can do from here.
She can stay in halls until the end of June and then move into her house in July but she's thinking of coming home for a month as she'll only have to pay half rent. It'd be handy if she did come back tbh as she could have the dogs while we go to the van.
I suspect like DD your DS will just let you know what he's planning to do at the last minute and we'll just nod and accept it :rotfl: xx 0 -
The washing didn't happen today. Just felt really out of sorts with a monster headache. Your DD sounds like my hubby, but I think he does it on purpose:rotfl:Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230

These men are crafty creatures aren't they. When I first met hubby he used to cook for me, and was really good at it. When we moved in together it slowly became 'my' job and he did other stuff, that to be fair I don't like doing. But whereas he puts the bins out once a week and fills the cars with petrol once a month etc. I'm the one that's cooking every bloomin' night! xx0
