Cardboard seems quite a common theme Beanielou :rotfl: I really do understand wanting the full works as it were for younger people, but I think as you get older you start to think, don't waste your money, stick me in a box and have done with it.

This is true I think.

Day 10/31, 6 NSD's, Prolific £19.71 cleared £1.40 pending, cash £31.41 for 7th-13th Jan.
The funeral service was lovely which might sound a strange thing to say but it really was. The celebrant was so nice and captured emotion, smiles and laughter from us all when we were remembering m-i-l. The flowers were perfect and I've brought some home which I'll press and put in a memory box.
Having sandwiches and cake back here was the right thing to do for the few people that attended. Just sat in the lounge all chatting together made it seem more personal. All back to normal now. x0 -

Morning
Day 11/31, 6 NSD's, Prolific £19.60 cashed out after fees, 70p pending, Cash £31.41 for 7-13th Jan.
No plans for today so that also means no spending. I've cashed out £19.60 from Prolific - I'll have to look back over the diary and see what I decided to do with it.
Need to have a look at the joint account, in particular the grocery spend. Seems like it's out of control lately but I think this is because I'm not supporting it with my money. We're lucky in that it's not critical for me to work to a budget but I try to and I really don't like going over.
I got a jigsaw for Christmas so I might get that out later on. I was thinking about getting the sewing machine out to make a lap quilt but not sure I fancy the mess.
Hope you all have a lovely day. Can't believe it's Friday again. x0 -
I'm really struggling with keeping the grocery spend to a budget. Everything seems so expensive!
I hope you have a lovely day

Thanks Wannabe - hope you get some things sorted today
I agree about prices. Nothing has obviously gone up, but a few pennies here and there on lots of items definitely adds up. I do two main shops where I generally get everything I need but my budget is pretty much gone by then.
Thinking about it I know what it is. Hubby's treats! When they've gone I just go out and buy more. It's probably that area I need to look at more than cutting down on the main shop. Think I'll do an exercise in adding up any extra I spend on those then tell him he needs to cut down or I need more money to cover his cravings. :rotfl:0
