Well I wouldn't say no to £2k @WinterWarrior. I might change hair and foot lady to personal maintenance lol. I don't think she'd mind being called foot lady, she told me she loves messing with feet
Mind you, I'm always grateful for people who can do personal care, otherwise we'd all be walking around looking like trolls

I like your foot lady pot , I have a waxing pot, not a proper waxing pot a money pot for waxing. 😂I hope the children in high school are all ok as they definitely need a full year in school . My GKs are in reception and Year 3 this year , time flies so fast .Glad your DD is enjoying her part time job , she will be starting her training soon . Does she want to do early years teaching or high school?
Thats a lovely idea for your quilling .Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.2 -

In hindsight I should have put away £10 a month away for me as well @beanielou
DD is teaching high school @Sunshine_girl2. She says she wouldn't have the patience for primary especially the younger ones. Whenever I tell people she's teaching high school I get raised eyebrows and grimaces as though she's going to work in a conflict zoneI've worked in primary and I actually think she's chosen the easier option, even if it's just from the point of view that she'll have far less contact with parents

Glad you sorted your pots out Tea - I had a mental image of you tipping them all out of your handbag whilst sat on the edge of the bed 😂. I have lots of pots and bank accounts and I find I soon get in a tizz when I borrow from my pots but don’t make a note & leave it a few days x3

It's easy to get in a pickle with pots and I do the same as you. Sometimes I just need to get my hands on cash for something and completely forget I've borrowed from myself. Probably a sign of age where I'm concerned as well

Morning All
Day 31/31, Prolific £10.57 cleared, £1.10 outstanding, Shoppix 2460/3200, Spends £8.30
Can't believe we're at the end of August already. I'm hoping when DD starts work and DS starts school there'll be more structure to our days. I like a beginning and and end to a day, when it's holidays the days, and then weeks, all just roll into one. DD has inset days on Thursday and Friday so she'll be in her routine this week, but I have to wait another week before DS gets back into his.
I had a couple of good surveys this week that have both cleared, one for £4 and one for £1.50 so I'm going to cash out the prolific money into Paypal. I read a Kate Shackleton detective book last week, picked up as part of the 3 for £5 deal at The Works. I really enjoyed it, they're what I call a 'light detective' so I've treated myself and dipped into the survey money in PP and ordered the set.
I'll divide the leftover spends into pots later, then I need to work out the joint account budget for this month and my own personal spends which I get tomorrow. Also need to do the online shopping and I've still got to order DS a pair of trousers. If he'd stay out of bed long enough for me to get him to try stuff on it would help
Hope you all have a good day. x

Sounds like you are going to busy with your finances this week. Can I ask what Kate Shackleton book you read as I am always on the look out for lighter detective books. I hope your DS stays out of bed long enough for him to try on his school clothes - teenage boysEFC #185 - £510.00/£1000

Hi @LABMUM
The book I read was Death in the Dales. It's set in the 1920's but written in a modern way, if that makes sense. I tried another detective book in that era but it was written along the lines of 'by jove, what the dickens has happened here' and I just couldn't get into it.
DS was in trouble when he finally got out of bed today. I discovered far too many snickers wrappers and crisp packets in his room. He wasn't in trouble for the mess, it was the fact he'd eaten them all last night! Making toast and pouring cereal is obviously far too much trouble for him1 -
Evening
Day 1/30, Prolific £1.53 cleared, 30p outstanindg, Shoppix 2510/3200, Spends 1st-7th September £33.75
I do like a new month especially as it means I get my spends againAfter putting into the pots I have £135 left for the month which is £33.75 a week. Had my hair cut today so that pot was emptied and I used the spends left over from last week to make up the difference, but I've started it off again with £5. Birthdays had £10 added from the joint account. And PP is down to £117.76 because I ordered the books.
Savings £90
Dog Grooming £30
Hair £5
Foot Lady £7
Christmas £351.51/£10 - bank and pot
Birthdays £65.48/£10 - bank and pot
Charity £12.80
PayPal £117.76
Church £20.00
I'm going to make a concerted effort to keep track of spends this month although I think I type that at least twice a weekLike a lot of people I find it harder to keep on top of money and things in general during the summer holidays although I'm not really sure why. It's not as though I'm juggling 2 small children who constantly want/need things. Maybe I subconsciously have a holiday from money and life in general when DD and DS are off
