I'm sorry you've had a tough few days saying goodbye to your furry friend. Sending hugs your way <3

The pots are looking great - healthy stuff :)
Thanks HG :) Every day gets a little better. I hardly spend any money normally, so lock down didn't really affect me too much apart from the positive of being able to re-jig and bump some pots up a little bit :) xx

    Morning :)
    Day 11/31, Prolific £8.84 cleared, £2 pending, Spends £22.50
    Shoppix: 3075/3200, RH: 599/1500

Nothing much to report from a money point of view. Taking Mum for some blood tests today and then she wants to pop to Mr George to see if she can find a couple of tops. She's lost a fair amount of weight and hers are falling off her shoulders :( She doesn't go out very often but she's quite right when she says if she has to sit in a waiting room full of  people, then 10 minutes in a shop won't make much difference and it'll be good for her to have a change of scene.

I need a couple of tops as well and I've got a small package to post so there'll be some spending, just not sure how much yet.

I suppose I'd better make a start with DS's uniform this week. The biggest expense is the blazer and rugby top which have to have the school logo on but he had new ones last year, which I bought on the big side, so they still fit him which is good considering he's not even had a full years wear out of them! His trainers still fit as well so that's another saving. So I think it will just be trousers and shirts I need to buy. His stationery needs are also very simple, no requests to go shopping for scented erasers, notebooks, fancy post its, stickers and fluffy pencil cases. Just a black pen, pencil and ruler. Honestly, apart from the smell and the never ending food requests, give me a house full of boys any time  :D

Hope you all have a lovely day. xx

    Evening :)
    Day 13/31, Prolific £9.84 cleared, £1.84 pending, Spends £14.50
    Shoppix: 3210/3200, RH: 609/1500

Spends over the last couple of days have been £3 on postage and £5 on socially distanced coffees in the park with friends. I didn't manage to find any tops so nothing was spent out of savings.

I've been trying to cash out on Shoppix today but the Paypal option isn't showing. I'm not sure if it's a glitch or if they've stopped that option, but there's only one voucher that I'd be able to use so I'll give it a couple of days to see if it re-appears.

I could kick myself because last week I saw something that would have been ideal for a small gift for a teen boy. I needed 3 of them so the plan was to buy them this week. Typically, when I went today there was only one left. It's not available on line as it's 'old' stock so the only option of finding more is trying the store when we go to the van.

I've signed up for Mr T delivery saver. I pay £3 every week for delivery, so £12 a month. The delivery saver is £7.99 and I can have as many deliveries as I want, not that I will. I shop once a week and that's the way it's going to stay, but even so I'll be saving £4 a month/£24 over the 6 months.

The next spend is DS's uniform. I've decided to go to a supermarket for his trousers and shirts and order his shoes to be delivered to store. Really that's all he needs for starting back in September although I usually end up having to buy something mid year when he goes to bed one height and wakes up 6 inches taller  :D

Hope you've all had a lovely day and it's not been too hot for you. xx

You could just buy the one & get something different for the other two?  xx

I did buy the one they had Beanie, but teen boys are so hard to buy for and I think it would appeal to most of them that I regret not getting them last week when I saw them. xx

    Morning :)
It's the last day of week 2 so thought I'd do a quick round up. I had my hair cut yesterday, the first time since lock down started and it was a pretty straightforward experience. They unlocked the door to let me in, took my temperature, gave me a plastic apron to put on and a big paper towel to put round my neck. There are only 2 customers allowed in at the same time and we had to sit on opposite sides of the room. The staff wore visors and masks but because it was so quiet in there it was easy enough to hear to have a chat.

Of course the price has gone up, which for me equated to 30% more than what I was charged just before lock down. I'm OK with that but I'd be happier if business owners didn't think we were all stupid and just came out and said they're making up for lost earnings, rather than pretending a plastic apron, a paper towel and a squirt of hand sanitiser is going to cost every single customer £'s more.

We had a late night trip to Sainsbugs and I got DS his school trousers. He wants short sleeved shirts this time, but they didn't have any so I need to try somewhere else for them.

I'm not spending anything today so the £14.50 will be divided between Savings, Christmas & Charity which means pots look like this:

    Savings: £180

    DS Savings: £80

    Dogs: £40

    Hair: £10

    Christmas: £180

    Birthdays: £90

Paypal: £52.86 - should be £57.86 but the PP icon has disappeared from Shoppix  :/

I've a few little jobs to do then I'm going to make a brew and sit in the garden for a while. Hope you all have a lovely day. xx

    Morning Tea,

Wow - 30% increase for your haircut does seem quite a bit. The local barbers is up to £10 for children (an increase of £4) and £15 for adults (instead of £12) so our 4-weekly barbers trip (yes, their hair grows like weeds) is £35 instead of £24. Quite a big rise considering they said it was to cover the costs of masks and disposable aprons.

My own hairdresser just upped her prices slightly but for my usual 'do' it's less than a 10% increase and I really don't mind that.

    Your pots are looking great!

Regarding shoppix, I'm sure in the past this happened to me and it's because there's only so many 'paypals' available. It appeared like they 'ran out of stock'. I think they do it to encourage you to take a voucher. I never have though, so it must've come back as an option eventually.

Hi HG :) Yes 30% is quite a hike isn't it. I don't know whether that's an across the board figure though. For a wash and cut I usually pay £14, yesterday it was £18 - and I'm sure my % calculation is correct lol. I was a bit annoyed when DS went to the barbers a couple of weeks ago. The barber usually does a really good job and we can get about 6 weeks out of it, but honestly, he'd hardly taken anything off at all. Really DS needs to go back next week but if the barber is holding out for a repeat visit he'll have a long wait. DS is more than happy to walk around with it in his eyes lol. To be fair though he hadn't increased his price, it was still £7.50.

That's interesting about Shoppix. The only voucher I could use is Love 2 Shop but I don't even want that. I prefer the cash to go into PP so I'll hold out and see if it re-appears at some point.

Hope you've heard off the builder and work will be starting soon. Have a lovely day. xx

    Morning :)
    Day 15/31, Prolific £10.66 cleared, £2.59 pending, Week 3 spends £24.50
    Shoppix: 3360/3200  RH: 654/1500

The Avon delivery came yesterday, after I'd already allocated money left over from last week to Savings and Christmas so I took it out of this weeks spends.

Hubby is away for a couple of days and is near the store where I bought the teen boy gift from so I asked him to pop in to look. They had 2, so I'm very pleased about that. I'd like one for DS as well so I'm hoping I'll be able to track another one down.

I'm toying with the idea of popping back to Sainsbugs to buy some PJ's for me and DD. Mine are for now, hers for (sshh Christmas)  :D It's open until 10pm so I'll probably leave it until tonight when it'll be quieter.

Apart from that there is absolutely nothing happening here today. I need to find something productive to do though so might tackle the 'end wardrobe'. There's very little storage in the house so this is my 'Charity/Covid/Brexit/Where on Earth Can I Put This' cupboard and things tend to just get shoved in there. I've been collecting bits for shoe boxes as well but I won't do that again. I hate having stuff hanging around for months on end so next year I'll just go shopping a couple of weeks before they're needed. I should probably also tidy out the airing cupboard and do a list of what's in there. I tend to buy shampoo and shower gels without knowing if we really need them because they always get used but there does look to be a lot! I may return later and tell you exactly how many.   :D

Hope you all have a lovely day. xx
