I have no idea LABMUM
It's just £25 I put to one side every month for when I want something. I sort of thought clothes when I first started but I've never really been a big spender in that department and on the odd occasion when I do buy something it usually comes out of my weekly spends. I never seem to want anything and I can't decide if that's a good place to be or if I should be striving for something. Not that there's too much to strive for with £25 a month lol but it obviously mounts up when it's not spent. xx

Morning
Finally made it to Sainsbugs last night. We went at 7pm to miss the crowds which seemed to work. I bought some PJ's for myself and some for DD for Christmas. I know it's early but it's about now I start to buy things if I see them and PJ's are always on the gift list. So that means the Christmas Pot and Savings have been dipped into. I could have taken the money for mine from this week's spends but I have a bee in my bonnet about spending some savings.I also remembered the zip on DS's pencil case had broken just before they stopped going to school, so I picked up a new one but that will come out of the uniform pot.
I'll start looking for books next, something else they always have. I'm toying with the idea of 'The Fever' for DD. It's based on the true story of high school girls in a town in America who in 2012 woke up stuttering and with tics etc. but when no medical condition was found it was decided they were suffering from some form of mass hysteria. I vaguely remember the story but not sure what the real life outcome was. DD did psychology at A level and loves reading so it might be something that appeals to her. DS is a bit harder and books wouldn't be on his wish list but he needs one for school because they have to read for 10 minutes every morning so it's a good opportunity for a present even though it's more practical based than something he really wants.
Weather is miserable here today. Dull, dark and drizzly. I have a few jobs to do then might try and find a film. Hope you all have a lovely Sunday. xx

Day 24/31, Prolific £12.98 cleared, £4.42 pending, Spends £33.30
I have a birthday gift to buy today for DD's friend and I need some face powder so a trip to the shops and a bit of spending to do today. DS is eating me out of house and home so I need to pick up a few bits of shopping as well. Hoping to find a cardboard box on my travels so I can post some things off this week.
I've ordered DS his school shirts and shoes. Just need to transfer the money from uniform to household and that's another job done. There's some money left in the pot so I'll use that for the barbers. Hard to believe by the time he returns to school next week, he'll have been off for 6 months.
Keeping myself on track so making a note that Savings are now at £169 and Christmas is at £175.
Hope you all have a good day. xx

Sounds like you're getting plenty organised for DS going back to school Tea.
And those pots are looking brilliant!
I know what you mean about wanting to have a goal for your savings pot. I'm still thinking about what to do with my sealed pot. There won't be a lot in there thanks to lockdown/ not going anywhere/ not using cash. But it's nice to have a goal for motivation to save and for something to look forward to. Hope you come up with something.Sealed Pot Challenge 075

Hi HG
I'm getting there. I needed to get over the shock of DS needing a size 16 collar and size 10 shoes before I could do anything
He's huge lol, not fat, just broad and big. Six months worth of no school and lots of sleep has obviously had an impact on him growing!
I must admit I like watching the savings slowly mount up but then I start to think what's the point if I've got nothing to spend it on. I usually satisfy my spending need by buying things for other people, but I've done that so I'm well and truly stuck. I actually think I'm going to spend it on the house. I love my home and I'm happiest when I'm in it just pottering around. I might give our bedroom a makeover and although hubby has said I can take the money for that out of the household account, it's not a necessity, just something I want to do, but maybe not just yet. I don't think I'm in the mood for the mess. xx

Afternoon Everybody
Day 27/31, Prolific £0 cleared, £5.13 pending, Spends £13.86
It's been a spendy couple of days. I bought myself a few bits and picked up a couple of things for Mum which came out of my money.
I've cashed out £14.92 from Prolific but then I paid £7 for postage so PP now stands at £59.82.
I've spent £64 from the birthday pot. £14 was on DD's friend, I got a 3 for 2 offer which was too good to miss and I also remembered I said I'd do something for DD's birthday back in February but then Covid hit and we both completely forgot about it so I've given her the money instead.
It feels like my purse has been open non stop and back in the old days I wouldn't have a clue where most of the money had gone, but now when I sit down and go through it all, it's good to be able to account for everything.
Skip over the pot list, it's just for me to look back on.
Savings: £169
DS Savings: £80
Dog: £40
Hair: £10
Christmas: £175
Birthdays: £36

We've had a very long and detailed e-mail and also a video from DS's school about the rules and regulations for when they return. His bubble will be his year group so as from next week I guess my bubble will also be over 200 teenagers, which doesn't sit particularly comfortably given Mum's situation. But given the thought and planning they've obviously put into pupils returning I really don't think they can do anything better than what they're doing. The situation in general still doesn't feel safe but from the planning and logistics they've got in place it certainly isn't just a case of 'oh, send them in, they'll be fine'. I think they should have kept this information to themselves though. 2 pupils in a year group showing signs of the virus and the whole year has to go into isolation. Can you image how many pupils will have sore throats and feel hot when they don't fancy going into school.
Right, best go and do something constructive I suppose. Not that knowing where my money has gone isn't constructive.Have a good day everybody. xx

Agree that they should have kept that intormation on 2 people showing symptoms to themselves.Enjoy the rest of your day 😊 xxI am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. Yes indeed Beanie, although maybe there is method in their madness and they're hoping for more time off themselves. If any teachers read this I'm joking.
