  • Poor DS, luckily he won't have to see his friends for a while 🤣. He'd better wear a hat when he video calls them 🤣. I had my hair trimmed fairly recently and I've only got a few grey hairs that don't really show, so I can live without the hair salon for a while luckily :).

At least the new restrictions will stop people going to the beach (unless they live next to it) or going to caravan parks, car boot sales, the hair salon, etc. I've heard that police are on the main routes in and out of my town 'advising' people about the new restrictions 😱.  Still the way some idiots behave they're going to be needed!

Hi HHD :) Luckily they only talk over their Xbox mics so no need for anybody to see him lol.

I'm torn between wishing I'd heard the PM's announcement at home or while we were at our van. Apart from having to shop which we'll have to do here, we're self sufficient over there and come into contact with nobody on site it's so quiet. But I live near a lot of good hospitals with ICU units so probably feel safer here at home from that point of view.

Hope you are all doing OK and staying well. xx

    Morning All :)

    Day 26/31, Spends £32, Prolific £1.25 cleared, £30.85 pending

I had an absolutely cracking survey from PA yesterday. The amount paid for doing it was good to start with but then you were able to earn bonus payments for  'working' and I came away with just over £30 pending payment  :)

The shopping arrived and it was OK. Some things were substituted, some things they'd listed as not available but some things they just didn't send with no explanation. The delivery driver said I was the first person that day who hadn't been sent any eggs - :'(   :D

It's a lovely day again today, so I'll be sitting in the garden to get some fresh air and taking a walk later on in the day as part of my daily allowance. Hope you all have a good one. xx

Wow! A £30 survey is amazing! Well done on nabbing that one :)

I guess if you're able to survive comfortably while at the van (and as you say, medical care close by is a bonus) then it's probably nice to be away from home. I'd quite like to be holed up somewhere nice, a bit more remote with the ability to take country walks. We have a nature trail near us which is ok but is unkept so it's just somewhere to walk off the main roads really. Aside from that, we need to drive to get out somewhere nice for a walk, which is pretty much a no for us right now.

Hope some eggs turn up in your life soon! I've been tempted to buy a couple of chickens and get the kids to build a coop, just to lessen the stress of trying to get eggs. Our family love eggs, i normally buy 20 eggs in a normal weekly shop...

    Stay safe!

Hi HG :) Couldn't believe the survey. It was typing skills and my 'trade' is touch typing so I was pretty well equipped for the tasks :) We're not at the van and we officially can't go now because they've closed the site :( Probably for the best really. In theory it sounds good living there but it's more practical for us to stay here.

Ooh chickens sound fun although I've heard they make quite a mess of your garden if they're left to roam. But the bonus of fresh eggs definitely has to be taken into consideration. I don't understand the eggs because they have dates on them and eggs are one of the things I'd be very wary of eating past their date.

Hope you're managing to juggle work and family life without it causing you too much stress. Take care of yourselves. xx

Ahh, i must've mis-read what you said! I assumed you were at the van when you heard the news and had to stay there! I guess at home, at least you have all your home comforts by being at 'base camp' and you can dream of lovely times at the van when that's permissible.

Yes, eggs are a funny thing. We have, on occasion, used the 'floating' test to see if eggs are still ok and it's stood us in good stead, but we've done that with eggs a couple of days past their 'best before'. Not weeks later! The idea of having chickens for the kids would be great, but the reality not so much. We are also in a housing estate and our back garden, although large, backs onto a fairly main road which can be noisy so it wouldn't make a good home for the little creatures anyway.

We are doing ok with the juggle, getting by! Hope you're safe and well too :)

  • Apparantly people are buying chickens like mad and chicken sellers are running out of chickens🐔🐔🐔🤣. You wonder what will happen to the poor birds when everyone is back at work and too busy too look after them 😥, because I get the impression from OBL that they're quite time consuming to look after and they do make a mess of your garden 😱.

We eat a lot of eggs as a family too, so we may need to change our diet at this rate 😭.

Wow, just went outside with DD and DS to do a quiet clap for the NHS thinking we'd be the only ones and couldn't believe the noise out there. Clapping, cheering, whistling.  We live on a big estate but hardly see anybody let alone hear them. But not tonight. Totally blew me away. xx

Thanks HHD :) I had another good one through this afternoon that came with bonus payments and got £5.90. The weather has been lovely again today hasn't it. Will the announcement today help DH with his business at all - even though it seems it will be June before things kick in which is ridiculous. xx
