    Spits coffee out laughing. Sorry.
Me too!  :D We should start a rumour that it's a great substitute for hand sanitiser.

I remember waiting for something at Boots Pharmacy with my friend once and we got all giddy and randomly pointed to a bottle of something and asked what's that for and he replied pubic lice. OMG of all the things to point to. We were young, had absolutely no shame and just fell about laughing. xx

Those were the days eh Beanie, when we could laugh at things without offending somebody. Sorry to read about the FB :(  But you need to think about yourselves so you're there to start it up again when all this crazy stuff blows over. xx

    Hi Everybody :)

Day 19/31, Prolific £16.46 cleared, 18p outstanding, Spends  - need to check my purse.

DD has just phoned to say all staff were called into work for an emergency meeting this morning. The news they gave didn't come as any surprise - they've closed as from today for the foreseeable future. She's obviously not impacted in any great way, but other staff will be. Such a worrying time for people in this type of industry. They'll be given 2 weeks holiday pay and they're letting the part time students officially go. What will happen to the other staff is anybody's guess. She said they'd done a stock take and cleared up and were just about to have some lunch together before everybody goes home.

When I went to put something in the bin this morning one of the neighbours across the road was in her house with her 2 children talking to her Mum through the window. She was there for a good 15 minutes. Maybe one of them is in an at risk group? Maybe one of them is showing symptoms of C-19? Maybe I’m overthinking it and she’d locked herself in by mistake
    :D

I’ve had a quick look at the banking today and it seems I’ve spent about £40 more on food over the past couple of weeks. £11 of that is dog food so not too bad I don’t think from a financial and responsible shopper point of view.

I’ve just had a text from school saying they’ll be open next week for children of people who need to go to work, but you had to fill in a form stating what you do and who you work for. I suppose there’ll always be somebody who’d prefer not to have their children at home even if they don't fall into the criteria. There’s probably also some children who prefer to be in school than at home  :/

Hope you're all keeping well and the school closures don't impact on you too much. These are very trying times for everybody that's for sure. xx

  • Will DD move back home now?

Only children of key workers or vulnerable children will be allowed to stay at school.

Hi HHD :) I'm not sure what she'll do to be honest. She'll have to weigh up what's best for her I suppose. Her rent is paid in advance so if she's not there it seems a waste of money. I think she'll see how it goes and what her house mates decide to do.

Yes, I was talking to my teacher friend last night and she said the criteria set out would mean at least 50% of the children will still be in school and it's not because the majority of them have parents who are key workers either :(

Hope you've had a good day. xx

Yes Beanie, the job was an added bonus but definitely not a necessity for her, unlike most people who work there. I don't even know them but by the time she'd finished telling me I felt pretty choked up thinking about what a struggle it will be for them over the coming weeks. It's a well known chain so I hope they at least get paid a basic wage until they can open again. xx

DD has just phoned. They are doing a house clean in preparation for locking up and leaving although this could be a few days yet. One lives in Wales, the other in N. Ireland and I think she's particularly worried about getting home if things get worse. DD's work sent everybody home with a load of food that was in stock which is better than throwing it away. On the other side of the coin to school teachers, a friend who works in a nursery has been told to expect job losses imminently because hardly any children fall into the category of having to be looked after. It's really going to start impacting people in a big way now :(
