I have been stock piling on pasta, cheese pasta, chopped tomatoes. My boyfriend just laughs at me. I am obsessed with cleaning products so already have three cupboards full in kitchen. I should stock up on butter and bread. My aunt used to put them in freezer have them last longer, will try that. Tbh I think the full thing is overblown, hoping I am right xxDebt (1/9/14) £6,702.11 Debt free (30/11/2016) mortgage port- £70,077.82 and mortgage £126,517.39 o/s currently

Hi Monz
I think it's being over dramatised as well tbh and like you hope I'm not proved wrong.
I've stockpiled on a small scale twice for Brexit and we ended up eating our way though that because the boxes of food in the wardrobe were getting on my nerves lol. I don't think I can face doing it again. Absolutely nothing wrong with building up extras, it's good housekeeping in my view, but people rushing out and clearing shelves is a different matter altogether. I freeze bread and it's fine and my Mum portions her butter and freezes it. Never mind laughing at you, your boyfriend will be kissing your feet if the worst case scenario happens
Have a great day. xx 4 -
So, in my shopping today the only substitutions were garlic baguettes instead of slices and seeded bread mix instead of white. Both of these have happened before so nothing out of the ordinary. I got my family pack of 9 loo rolls, all cleaning products, all toiletries and microwave rice and pasta as usual. The delivery driver told me his store was functioning perfectly fine and it was business as usual. Will be interesting to see what the state of play is next week. Keep calm folks

I'm tempted to stock up a tiny bit due to coronavirus but I can't afford to do it much. I'm surrounded by germs so I should be doomed because I live with two young men and I work in a school 😱. I'll just have to cope my immune system can handle anything by now!

Thanks HHD, that's a lovely thing to say
You could well be doomed but I reckon your contact with all those children and your own young men will have made your immune system impenetrable.
DS and his friends are desperate for school to be closed but I don't think that will happen unless it's absolutely necessary. We've had a letter home telling us they are upping their cleaning regime, installing hand sanitizers in all classrooms and should the worst happen have set up a system where anybody who needs to self isolate will be expected to carry out school work remotely. Poor DS, seems like it's business as usual at the moment for him

Morning Tea,
I hadn't even thought about stock piling anything! Perhaps I need to take it a bit more serious I never bothered when it was all the Brexit business either ! In all honesty I try and avoid the news as it scares me but will get a few extra cupboard bits this week and stock up on toilet roll according to GMB this morning. Think a lot of schools and businesses are putting contingency plans in place we are able to work from home so quite lucky in that respect.
Have a lovely Thursday
