It is isn't it. But I expect more and more of us will start to know people who are having to self isolate as time goes on. xx

Apparantly here there was a kerpufle at the Dr's as people turned up there who had been advised to stay at home so the surgery was in lock down for a while. Some people just dont get it sadly.

I really do think people need to calm down and act with a bit of common sense and thought for others. If you're told to stay at home then that's what you should do. Turning up at the surgery is just selfish. xx

    Morning :)
    Day 6/31, Prolific £5.66 cleared £1.05 outstanding, Spends £25.50

Small spend of £4 yesterday and receipts have been uploaded to Shoppix and RH. Unless I go completely crazy over the next couple of days I should have a fair bit to add to some pots.
    Morning Teafor2.
I don't post on here very often (I'm much more of a lurker around these parts!), but I've been following you diary for a while now and thought I should pop on to say hello 😁.
I've taken a couple of tips from you in the past - I joined Shoppix and RH which is going well. I though I should return the favour and let you know about another receipt app that I've found called Zipzero. It works pretty much in the same way as Shoppix as and RH but rather than earn points/coins, you earn 1% of the value of your receipt. You can't cash out the money to your own account either, rather you make payment of your earnings to your chosen bill provider. I've chosen to send mine over to the energy supplier we use but you can choose from quite a few including council tax, water rates, mobile phones etc. They even store the bank details so it was easy to set up (I sound like a sales person now so I'm going stop waxing lyrical and let you check it out for yourself if you want to! 😂).

Enjoy the rest of your weekend x

Thanks HHD, that's a lovely thing to say :) You could well be doomed but I reckon your contact with all those children and your own young men will have made your immune system impenetrable. ;)

DS and his friends are desperate for school to be closed but I don't think that will happen unless it's absolutely necessary. We've had a letter home telling us they are upping their cleaning regime, installing hand sanitizers in all classrooms and should the worst happen have set up a system where anybody who needs to self isolate will be expected to carry out school work remotely. Poor DS, seems like it's business as usual at the moment for him  :D

I hope my school doesn't close as I won't get paid for my TA cover if I can't go in and I need the money.

The children at school definitely need to be taught to wash their hands. I found out on Friday that two children NEVER wash their hands with soap at school as their parents told them not to use the soap at school as they have eczema and are allergic to it 😱😱😱. The mind boggles 😱. So the teacher decided they had to use soap as they were going to be handling food in the lesson and food poisoning is worse than eczema! The parents will probably come up and complain now 🤣.

I'm going to stockpile a teeny bit but like you say that is just good housekeeping :). It's a bit of a worry those children having been to Italy but I expect almost everyone will come into contact with someone like that as people never stop travelling! I read today that children and women are less likely to die from it because of the way their immune systems work.

And hello to you as well MrsMe :) I love Shoppix because it mounts up quite quickly. RH is laborious but you get there in the end and  2 or 3 £5's every year is always a bonus  ;) I shall definitely look at ZipZero. I don't pay any bills out of my money but imagine the brownie points I'll get from hubby for saving money from the joint account  ;)  o:)  Hope you've had a lovely weekend. xx

Hi HHD :) I don't doubt for a moment the parents will be in school as some point. If the children really do suffer from eczema then they should have their own little bottle of soap to use, but they should definitely be washing their hands properly before lunch.

A few extras are always worth having in the cupboard and I never run mine down to nothing so there's always something in for us to eat even if it's beans on toast. I wonder what our grandparents would have stocked up on before pasta, cous cous and hummus were staples? Probably flour, lard, butter, eggs, sugar and tea? I expect toilet roll wouldn't even be on the list but maybe extra newspapers would be bought  :D  You're right, I expect we're all going to come into contact with somebody at some point and there's not much to be done about that.

Hope you've had a lovely weekend. xx

    Afternoon :)
    Day 8/31, Week 2, Prolific £5.66 cleared £1.05 pending, Shoppix 850/3200, RH 955/1500, Spends £32

After a yummy treat of fish and chips on Saturday I was left with £18 from last weeks spends which has been split £3 to Christmas, £7.50 to Birthdays and £7.50 to Tickets.

Some movement in pots this week:
    Savings: £45
    DS Savings: £30
    Dogs: £10
    Hair: £15
    Charity: £3.50
    Christmas: £43
    Christmas Meal: £35
    Tickets: £55/£115
    Birthdays :£34.50
    Uniform: £39.40
    Household/Cars: £137

One of the dogs needs to go to the vet this week which is unexpected so that will have to come out of the household/cars pot. I'm still focusing on birthdays but really want to try and get these tickets paid off as well. If I used my savings I wouldn't be far off paying it back but there's no rush for the money to go back in the joint account so for now I'll just add to it as I go along.

I have a cold sore on my nose. I am prone to them but usually they are very accommodating and erupt up my conk not on the end of it! To be honest I look a b*gg*r so I'll be staying in the house as much as possible this week. Trust me there is nothing positive to be found in this situation - not even that I might not spend anything.  :s:D xx

Thanks Beanie. It's blooming sore but I've had it a couple of days already and got to it quickly with the cream so I'm hoping it will be gone in a day or two. xx
