Going great guns with your pots, Tea. Your summer birthday haul sounds painful, but as you say, it gives you time to save for it all. We have a similar scenario in December. Six family birthdays, one of which is son #1. It's a lot!

    Missing the wave smillie.

There's a few things on here that don't seem as good, although I've probably not discovered how to do things properly. Highlighting several quotes is one thing I'm struggling with. Anyway, no wave but here's a smile  :) xx

Thanks HG :) The birthdays in June are horrendous. All close family as well so no skimping allowed lol. There are 2 that aren't included in my birthday pot so that's good. Think I'd rather have them in June than December though! xx

  • I feel you on the birthdays lol, mine nightmare period is feb to May lol, we have had my aunty's 70th start of this month and we ae super close so had to spend iyswim, it's my brother's 40th next week, then in March we have my son, my hubby, his brother, then april is my daughter (and in between march and april is their joint party) and then may is my mam lol xx

They do seem to come all at once K! I feel your pain lol. If it's family and special birthdays there's not much in the way of cutting down really is there. The birthday pot has helped this month, just need to build it up a bit more now in readiness for the onslaught :) xx

    Hi Everybody 😊

Think I might start coming on here a bit more often. I’m on track with the pots, they seem to be well and truly ingrained, but I can feel myself slipping back into habits of handing my money over for things that should really be coming from other areas, which was why I started this diary in the first place.

Today I've given myself £35. This has to get me to the end of February but even with an extra day that's fine.  :D

So far this month I’ve cashed out £5 from Shoppix, £13.03 from Prolific and there’s £3.21 pending.

Spending wise the birthday pot has been dipped into and I’ve also treated myself to a couple of things from the money in the savings pot.

I can hardly bring myself to mention this but I've found something the DC’s will enjoy for their (Christmas) experience and I’m thrilled it’s going to cost no more than £40 for both of them to do. That means just 2 months into the year the money in Paypal already covers the cost of this.  It also means I can start start drip feeding the repayment of the theatre tickets from this account over the next few weeks.

Apart from the birthday and savings pots, the rest have stayed the same so I won’t list them all again until March.

    Have a great weekend. xx

Aww thanks Beanie. Pots are fine but I don't seem to have had any weekly money left over for the past few weeks and can't honestly say I know where it's gone so I need to get a grip of it. It's a good time to start as it's the beginning of a new week for me. xx

    Morning One and All :)

Weather is miserable here again today. I forgot to order dog food on the weekly shop so all thoughts of staying inside snuggled up have disappeared and I'll need to get dressed and go and buy some. This is the sort of thing that I've found myself slipping back into paying for again but not today! I'm putting my foot down with myself.  ;) I've a load of copper that needs taking to the counting machine as well so I'll do that. I'm expecting from the weight of it to come away with £2 or £3 which I'll stick in the Xmas Splurge pot.

I've done a little bit of money moving this morning. I had £73.75 in Paypal from surveys and receipts. £40 of that is for the DC's experience and I've transferred £20 over to the ticket repayment which now stands at £30/£115 repaid. That leaves me with £13.75 in PP.

I'm off out for lunch with friends tomorrow but that's accounted for and won't come out of my weekly spends. Apart from that I can't see any major spends happening so hoping to have something left over to divide between the pots this week.

Hope you all have a good day. xx
