What a great idea having a list for Chritmas 2020. I missed out on doing a couple of things with my boys this year because I left it too late to book!
Have a wonderful Christmas Tea and I wish you all the very best for a fabulous 2020 xx0 -

Hi Everybody
Thank you for all the Christmas wishes, hope you all enjoyed yours and are all set for the New Year.
I'm pleased to say I got the spends on gifts and food pretty much spot on and can’t see it being any different next year, so already have a good idea of what it’s going to cost us. This year I’ll be putting something away every month towards it out of the joint account.
I’ll be doing the same with my personal money as I did last year - filling the pots every month then dividing what’s left over into weekly spends. This is how 2019 went and 2020 will be pretty much the same although I'm hoping to hold on to some savings.
Savings £25 – I never did build up any savings but I know exactly where the money went so that’s the main thing.
DS Savings £10 – on-going every year until he turns 18
Dogs £25 – this builds up for 3 months, is spent on grooming and then I start again
Hairdressers £10 – builds up for 2 months then gets spent
Christmas £10 – on-going for the year, this covers the few extended family gifts we buy plus stocking fillers for the DC's
Charity £5 – I’ve committed to two things and will be buying bits throughout the year so this will go up and down
I also have Birthday and School Uniform sub accounts linked to my bank and these are added to every few days when I round down money from the joint account. And there's the Paypal Account which all survey money will be paid into for an experience for DC’s next Christmas.
Birthdays - £17.61
School Uniform - £28
Paypal - £33.34
None of these have targets because any shortfall will be made up from our joint account but it’ll be nice to get a head start.
The only other thing to mention is the shopping bill. I’ve accepted I’ll never cut it down in a big way and I’m grateful I don’t have to, but I've set myself a token target of shaving £3 a week off it. It doesn't sound much but over the year that will be £150 which can also go towards next Christmas.
So that's my starting point for 2020. I can't see any major blips touch wood so things should just tick over as they've done this year.
Wishing you all a Happy New Year. Hope it brings you all whatever you want it to. Thanks for reading along during 2019 and for commenting. xx0 -
