Dident realise you had a diary :D
    Have quickly skim read.
    My thoughts are:-

Join the NSD thread in January :)
Good that you have realised that household bits should not come out of 'your' money.
The same goes for DS's clothes.

Anyway, glad I found you :)
    Have a lovely time :)

    Day 24/31, £25.93, 13 x NSD's

Christmas Eve :T I think this is the best part of Christmas especially if you've got children. Hard work yes, but worth it all in the end.

We're off to visit family for a couple of hours this afternoon, then once we're home we'll be hunkered down until after Boxing Day. Got a few things to do in the kitchen to make it a bit easier tomorrow but apart from that it's all about enjoying the festivities now.

Hope you all have a lovely time and Santa brings you everything you want - even if it is just peace and quiet.

    Merry Christmas Everybody. :santa2:
  • Merry Christmas teafor2 :xmastree:

Just had a quick catch up through your diary :)
You are doing really well. I think starting and doing so well in December is amazing, you should give yourself a pat on the back. You'll be off to a flying start in 2019! Xx
  • Wishing you a very merry Christmas tea. I hope you have a lovely few days with the family. I'm sure you'll make Santa's nice list.

I'm feeling a little sad as our house is now full of non-believers. I refuse to say it was me and I'm going with the 'if you believe in the magic, the magic happens' approach.

Hello Everybody :) Thank you for all your lovely Christmas wishes, hope you and your families all had a great time. I could happily take all the decs down now and get back on with 'normal' but I make myself hold out til 1st January. :rotfl:

    Day 27/31, £25.93, 15 x NSD's, Prolific £9.14, pending £5.45

So, with the festivities behind us, it's time to start thinking ahead about the plan for 2019. Just jotting some things down so I can look back occasionally and remind myself what I set out to do.

    1. I need to get a proper list together of my spending 'categories', see what's left over, divide it by 4 weeks and try and stick to the budget. Mental note to carry on keeping all receipts - it's really helped this past month.

    2. The next thing is the CC. I'm aiming to pay £1,000 off as soon as possible then I'm going to discuss the rest being paid off in full with hubby. We can then pay ourselves back, if that makes sense.

    3. I want to look at the joint account and allocate something for household purchases and DS's clothing. Going off what I spent in December I think I'll start with £50 to cover both and raise it if necessary.

    4. The other thing I might look at is the shopping. I'm not overly focused on reducing this, it works pretty well for us, but if I can reduce it by a little bit every week I can put this towards the CC.

    5. Anything left over from 'my' money at the end of the month will be split 3 ways. 1/3 into my savings, 1/3 off CC and 1/3 rolled over to the following month

Right, think that's a pretty good start for now. Just waiting for my next 'pay day' to implement the plan. :D

    Day 28/12, 16 NSD's, Prolific £10.39 cleared, £4.20 pending

A quiet day planned today just pottering around the house tidying up a few bits and pieces from Christmas. We don't go overboard on food for the holiday so we've pretty much munched our way through everything now and we're back to 'normal' which means it's chili for tea. I have some in the freezer so that's no cooking for me today :T

I've had a count up of money and it stands at:

    £20.07 in personal account
    £11.80 cash in purse
    Total: £31.87*

£12.50 Christmas gift money left to spend

*I've not got my adding up wrong again, honestly :rotfl: The extra cash is from £20 hubby gave me to buy some things and he told me to keep the change.

If I can keep hold of this money for the next 4 days I'll have something to carry forward to January which will be a good start.

Hope you all have a nice day. :)
  • You're nsd are an inspiration and I'm going to keep track of ours from jan.

Have you seen receipt hog? It's a free app that you upload your receipts to and they collect details of shop and spend to analyse shopping habits (and no doubt they sell their findings) all data collected is anonymous and I've not had anymore spam emails. I set my babe up with a initial after first name to check.

You upload receipts and earn coins, entry's to a mini prize draw to win more coins or slot pulls. It's very slow going and takes time to accumulate enough coins to move to higher levels when the bonus is better. I've been doing it since start nov and nearly got enough to redeem £3 amazon voucher. It takes ages, but I think patience is rewarded (eventually) I quite like doing it now and have got the family in habit now. I've got my 100 coins this week so going to upload the stack of receipts from
Hubby tomorrow when my week resets so I get more coins.
