omg!! I dont like cake but that looks mouth watering!!!!xx

Thank you Monz :) One of the reasons I went for the 'naked cake' look was because the amount of buttercream I'd already used was beginning to make me feel a bit queasy :rotfl: xx

Thanks LABMUM :) Ihad great fun faffing around with all the bits. It looks like it's full of buttercream but it's just a very thin layer on the outside. Cake pops next :D xx

Morning LABMUM :) They're broken down/crumbed sponge mixed with a bit of buttercream which are rolled into balls and then stuck on a lolly stick, dipped in chocolate and decorated.

If you're feeling creative it's a fun way of using up leftover sponge although I usually put cake that doesn't get eaten in the freezer and bring it out when we fancy cake and custard - it's much easier :rotfl:

    Have a lovely day. xx

    Morning Everybody :)

    Day 2/31, Proific £1.20, Spends £36.70

Prolific finally cleared after 3 weeks of waiting :T It's very quiet again on the survey front so from now on I'm going to start dividing my 'round down' money from the joint account between birthdays and the Christmas experience to make sure I have enough saved up.

Train fare to town yesterday cost £6.10 which came out of my spends.

Nothing planned for today. Weather has changed again and it's lovely and sunny.

Hope you all have a lovely day. xx

    Hello Everybody :)

    Day 31/31, Proific £1.20 outstanding….still, Spends – see last paragraph below :o

OK, brace yourselves. It’s the big cake reveal as promised :rotfl: I went down a slightly different route and made a ‘Naked Cake’. The idea is you skim the sides with buttercream but just use a small amount so you can still see the sponge . It’s a Marmite look – you either love it or hate it.

The girl I’ve been watching on YT has obviously put a lot of hard work in at patisserie school and she sells this style of cake in Harrods starting at £150 for one this size. Unbelievable. Seriously anybody could have a go at this. I’m not taking anything away from her, but the ingredients and decs for this cost me just over £10. For that, I can live with the slight imperfections plus it was really good fun to do.

In other news I've completely lost track of my money this week. I have treated myself to a few little bits though and managed not to feel guilty so that's good.

Hope you’ve all had a lovely day and have managed to stay dry. xx

Thanks HHD and NMC It could have done with one more chocolate drip on the side - the gap irritates me every time I look at it :rotfl:

Good job I don't know where any of you live or you'd all be inundated with cakes. :D xx

    Morning One and All :)

    Day 3/31, Prolific £2.08 cleared, Spends £36.70

Elderly relative was supposed to be coming for a cuppa this afternoon but she's not feeling up to it so another day of not much happening. :o

In a bid to feel slightly productive I've written a uniform/school supplies list for DS and I think it'll come to about £150, more if his size 8's have grown and he needs new trainers  School doesn't come cheap these days and I'm only buying for one.

Money wise things are just ticking over, but I am only 3 days into the month

Hope you all have a good day. xx
