Wow that cake looks amazing TF2. Let us know when you've made it and we'll all come around.:rotfl:.

Your cinema trip with the family sounds nice :).

You're always welcome HHD :) although I'm already half regretting putting a photo up and then promising to show my attempt :rotfl:

It was nice for us all to be out together. DD comes home fairly regularly but we tend to just go about our daily business as usual so actually being out and all focused on each other was good. xx

    Morning

    Day 26/31, Prolific £1.20 outstanding, Spends £32.71

Another hot night with little sleep. Smiling to myself as I type that because years ago those words would have had nothing to do with the weather :p Thankfully it feels a little cooler today although I’m not fully benefitting as the oven is on while I cook a chicken.

Nothing to report money-wise apart from it was so hot yesterday I hardly moved off the sofa so didn’t spend any. Which is just as well as I’ve still got another 5 days to go before I get any more.

We’re thinking about going to the van for the night but haven’t decided yet and I need to liaise with DD about possibly meeting in town again next week and going to the museum.

Hope you all have a lovely day and a great weekend. xx

I'm quite happy with a brew and a book to read these days. :rotfl:

That's nice of you to say CG. I can bake so I stand a good chance of making something similar but I can't do anything like model sugarpaste into people or animals etc. I shall use your love quote when mine comes out tipsy :D xx

    Morning :)

    Day 28/31, Prolific £1.20 outstanding, Spends £20.71

After deciding it was too hot to travel to the van on Thursday we set off on Friday instead for a quick overnight stay. We had a lovely time and spent an hour in the arcade on the pier which we’ve not done for ages so that was good fun, although DS had left his money at the van so I got stung for £5. Between us we won a load of tickets which you can exchange for gifts/sweets at the shop but DS is past all that so he handed them to 2 children. Seeing their faces light up was lovely. Plenty of people have given mine their tickets over the years and as the saying goes, what comes around goes around – and it’s not always the bad stuff. :)

I did a little bit of spending and bought myself a palette knife and a couple of tubes of colouring for the cake making phase I’m going through which cost £7. Last night I made meringue kisses and some swirly things and did some chocolate design stuff. I’ve not much idea about cake terminology so ‘things and stuff’ descriptions will have to do for now. :rotfl: Everything turned out fine so that’s a good start.

I’m off to church in a while then I think we’ll be settling down with a film this afternoon. It's so dark I've got the lamp on so I can see the keyboard while I'm typing. Such strange weather we have in the UK at times.

Hope you all have a lovely day. xx

    Afternoon Everybody :)

    Day 29/31, Prolific £1.20 outstanding, Spends £16.71

Another little spend on a piping nozzle this morning so down to £16.71. I've had a fun hour playing with food colouring and trying to perfect my piping technique though so worth the money for the entertainment and sense of achievement.

I need to spend 10 minutes this afternoon reminding myself where I'm up to with the pots and a couple of things that are going on behind the scenes.

Hubby has just cleaned the fire surround with Brasso and whilst it's looking lovely it absolutely stinks. Hope it's only a once a year job :o

Just watching the news and apparently households throw away £800's worth of food every year. For us that would be about 2 months worth of full shops - I definitely don't fall into that category but I wonder who does.

Right off to consult the handbag and see what the state of play is.

    Have a lovely afternoon. xx
