  • Sorry about your burglary BB50 that must have been very upsetting :(.

I expect your cameras and alarms will deter an opportunistic or amateur burglar TF2 (which is probably most of them) and we know nothing can really stop a professional burglar.

Thanks Hairy - it was upsetting but now I am more cross! X

Tea the police said to put as many deterrents in place to stop would be burglars xx

Oh no BB50. So sorry to read you were burgled. And especially that they took your DS's birthday money. I've just checked with hubby and we are insured for £500 as well. It's just me that has cash in the house and totalled up at the moment it doesn't come to more than that. But I will have to start putting the CC savings into a bank as that will make a big difference.

We have CCTV and alarms linked to our phones so if the alarm goes off we can actually see if anybody is trying to get in or is inside. I don't for one minute think that will deter the most determined criminal but hopefully it might stop the majority of them thinking about it when they see the cameras.

Did the insurance pay out the £500 and did you lose a lot more than that. I'm so annoyed on your behalf. It takes a lot of time and determination to save money and then some scroat just walks in and helps themselves.

On a brighter note, I hope DS enjoys his day out with Nana and they both enjoy the Toy Story Film. I want to go and see Yesterday with DD and also fancy The Lion King. Need to try and fit those in over the hols if I can.

    Have a lovely day. xx

Thanks Tea. It happened 3 weeks ago so am still waiting for the insurance payout. We had about £800 in the house and the excess on the policy is £350  so not expecting much. They are also going to mend the back door rather than replace it  they are still in the process of working out the value of my jewellery. Most of it was inherited and had sentimental value as well :(

Yesterday is a fab film - I really enjoyed it! Lion king is on our list too c.f.

    Morning

    Day 23/31, Prolific £2.92 cleared, £2.40 outstanding, Spends £34.20

Total spends yesterday - £15.80 broken down as follows:

£3 on a box of chocolates for relative
£2.40 on chocolate for the cinema
£10.40 train tickets for 2 adults and 1 child – much cheaper, easier and quicker than driving into the city centre. We can park for free by the station and it takes about 7 minutes to get there and who doesn’t love a train ride. :D

The DC’s paid themselves into the cinema and then as a treat hubby paid for us all to have a bite to eat afterwards. That’s definitely the big spend/outing of the week. The rest of the week will be spent locally and we have a couple of nights planned at the van which usually costs us very little.

Off out shopping today but nothing to buy apart from food so spending money should stay untouched.

Hope you all have a lovely day. xx

    Morning :)

    Day 24/31, Prolific £3.92 cleared, £1.20 outstanding, Spends £34.20
    RH: 1077/1500 Shoppix: 1255/3200

Struggled to sleep last night it was so hot. Even the fantastic thunderstorm we had didn't really clear the air.

Nothing much to report on the money front apart from I didn’t spend any yesterday :j Prolific has gone quiet again and I'm still waiting for the final survey to clear.

I usually have a plan in the back of my mind about setting up a new pot or saving for something but I’ve not even got anything like that to talk about.

I may start having a look for gifts for DS's stocking and try and get that out of the way over the next couple of weeks. Then with the experience and a couple of smallish gifts I've got in mind for them I think they will pretty much be done apart from money - which is hubby's department ;)

Hope you all have a lovely day. xx
