Thank you PP
Blimey I hope you skipped a few pages to get here :rotfl: I'm sure I've been reading your diary while I've been at the van, I'll have to go and have a look and say hello.
The pots have been such an eye opener for me. Something so simple has really changed the way I view my spends and what I do with my money. I can understand why this used to be the go to way of budgeting in many households. It's a real sense of achievement watching the pennies grow and knowing what it's going to be used for. Good luck with your budgeting.
xx
I actually didn't :rotfl::rotfl: All this budgeting, and following other peoples budgeting is defo stopping me from spending, I won't have time at this rate :rotfl: I am going to start a few pots like yourself so can (hopefully) see them stacking up rather than jut one savings pot. Thank you xx:beer:0 -
Pleased you had a good birthday tea and casino was a fun treat! I've never been, but do allow myself a couple of horses on the national and gold cup. Never won a thing and could never get hooked. My dad always says you never see a poor bookie. :rotfl:
I'm at that point on the month that hubby been paid abd waiting for rest of money to come in so I can get some pot saving done! It's really changed the way I view my cash....thank you x

Good grief PP you've got stamina :rotfl: I see you've started a few pots already - they are definitely the way forward
I'm sure you'll see a big difference in how you think about things and having a few set up means you can focus on particular areas if you need to. Good luck with them. xx 0 -

Thank you CG
The casino is a bit of fun and as long as it stays that way I'm happy to have a flutter. We're hit and miss with the Grand National and although I've bought some lottery tickets in the past it's not something I've done for years. Hubby does though so I'm still in with a chance :rotfl:
It's funny how something as simple as having 'pots' has changed how we think about our money isn't it. Wish I'd started mine years ago but no point dwelling on that. I guess it's the old fashioned way of looking after the pennies and the £'s will take care of themselves. I don't put much in mine but even so they're building up nicely.
Last term of the school year now! Doesn't seem 2 mins since the new year was starting
Have a good day. xx 0 -
Afternoon Everybody

Day 3/30, Prolific £0, Spends 1st-7th June £43.25
Bit of a slow day here today so not much to report. The first of several birthdays is this week so I need to buy a gift and a card when I'm out tomorrow. It's coming from the joint account though so that's good. I'm out with friends later on in the week so I reckon £30 of my spends will go on that. Apart from that I can't see me spending anything else so might be able to hang on to the rest
Weekly on line shop is looking good so far and after I've been shopping tomorrow I'll know exactly how much I've spent and if I've got anything to transfer to the new 'shop pot'. This pot will be attached to my bank account as that's where the shopping gets paid from and it's easier to transfer any difference over.
Hope you've all had a good day. xx0 -
Evening

Day 4/30, Prolific 51p cleared, £2.57p pending, Spends £35.75
My name must have worked it's way up the survey list again as I've had a few today :T
Spends have been £4.50 on coffees and £3 on birthday cards which needed to come out of my money rather than the joint account. Weekly shop has come in slightly under budget which means I can transfer £2.75 into my shop pot. It's not the £5 I was aiming for but it's a start.
DD is home tonight as she has a dental appointment tomorrow. She's just text to say she's clearing her room and bringing some things home with her, can we send DS up to help her carry everything  We don't have a lot of storage and I've got visions of pots and pans stacked in my front room for the next few weeks
Haven't taken into account her being around for a few weeks over summer so the shopping budget is likely to be more not less although she does buy her own treats.
Hope you've all had a lovely day. xx0 -
I'm wondering what to do with all DS3's belongings when he clears his uni room and comes home . It's lucky I've been de-cluttering! The food budget will take a hit too .
Glad you've had a few surveys come through
