Nice work on that survey too - that's a once in a blue moon type of experience! Haha shame they're not all like that!

Thank you all for the birthday wishes. :) I had a lovely day and in the evening me and hubby went out and did something I enjoy doing once a year and no more. It's definitely not very MSE so I'm not sure whether to mention it or not but what the heck :rotfl: we went to a casino where I had a good couple of hours fun on the roulette table with £20. That's the most I'll spend but in my defence, I don't do anything like the lottery so I'm quite happy to have an annual £20 flutter on my birthday. :D

Back in a few mins to update things on the money front. xx

    Hi :)

Day 1/30, Prolific £0, Spends - to be worked out
    Shoppix: 1260/3200 RH: 428/1500

So, back home again after a lovely few days at the van :) It was payday while I was away so I need to go to the bank tomorrow and draw out my money so I can top up the pots and work out my weekly spends although I think it will all go this week as I'm meeting up with friends for a night out.

I have more money to play with than usual this month. £285 + £120. The £120 is the CC money and although I was thinking of buying some premium bonds for the time being I'm just going to put it to one side. I don't always get through my weekly money so really can't see me being tempted to dip into it for anything, but if I do want something I'll have it to hand. The £285 is for the pots and spends. As I don't really need any more spends I'm thinking I should bump some of the pots up.

I keep looking at the savings pot as well and wondering what I'm actually saving for :rotfl: Maybe I should tag clothes on to the end of it, not that I even buy many of them.

The caravan pot is empty so that needs to be started over. And there are birthdays this month but they'll come from the joint account.

I spent £40 on shopping while we were away but had £12 in vouchers, so just £28 in cash. That will see us through until Wednesday which is our shopping day. I'm really going to make a concerted effort to try and reduce the shopping bill by £5 each week if I can. We always have plenty in the cupboards and I think I'm overstocking so I need to have a good think about this. I know £5 doesn't seem a lot but it does seem achievable and over the year that would be £250 that could be put towards something.

At the moment the pots are looking like this, but I need to add the usual monthly amounts to them tomorrow.

    Savings : £60
    DS Savings : £50
    Dogs : £50
    Hairdressers : £0
    Christmas : £70
    Christmas Charity : £25
    Caravan : £0
    Target : £17/100 by September

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend and have enjoyed half term. xx
  • Happy belated birthday TF2 :bdaycake:. Nothing wrong with a bit of roulette on your birthday :). My mum used to get the roulette board out every Christmas but we used to play with her coppers collection :rotfl:. The quickness with which we lost our money used to put us off real gambling :rotfl:.
