Thanks Beanie, she said it was a good interview, especially as it was one on one rather than in a group. Even if she doesn't get the job it's all good experience for the future. xx

Morning Everybody

Day 24/31, Prolific £1.80, Spends 22nd-31st May £30
I need to do the joint banking today to see where we're up to. The vets bill came out of there and also part of the gardening spend so I need to account for those.
We have a lot of birthdays next month, so need to start allocating money for those. Over half of the family we buy for have birthdays in June so it's an expensive time. They're all very close family as well so it's more than just a token gift.
I've been toying with the idea of a raised pond until I looked at the prices  For what is basically a wooden box we'd be looking at about £300 and that's before all the other paraphernalia has to be bought. Anyway, I stumbled across some pictures of container ponds. No fish, just plants and lilies and they look really nice so I may go down that route instead.
Hope you all have a lovely day. xx0 -
DD has done really well to get an interview, fingers crossed!
I'd love a raised pond too but they're stupid money. I've been thinking about an old water tank for mine as like to quirky vintage look. Hubby not keen and would need dad to help with electric. It's a future project but would love a pergola next year. Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230 -
Morning CG
Are you all looking forward to half term? I like a bit of quirky here and there so the water tank sounds great to me. Some of the container ponds are literally done in one of the bigger plant pots you can buy and they look lovely. My treat today is to gorge myself on pinterest and get some ideas. I may dip into my spends and buy a couple of water lilies and set one up over half term. This is the sort of spending I enjoy rather than the usual clothes shopping so I'm feeling quite excited
xx
Have a lovely day. xx0 -
I can't wait to have a week with the children. We haven't much planned just odd days pottering about when hubby is off too. They both seem so run down im sure whatever we do will involve lots of sleep :j
That's the best sort of spending when it's you'd really like. So much more fun than shopping! I date t go on Pinterest at the minute because hubby's yo do list is long enough. Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230 -

I think it's their age CG. I remember DD coming home from school in her teens and having a nap and she's even worse now
Funnily enough this week DS has come home and gone to bed for an hour every day. I don't know who decided they're at their best first thing in the morning. I'd struggle to be fully functioning and ready to learn for 8.20am but that's what's expected of them.

I have decided I'm completely out of touch with the price of things these days. When I said I wanted a small container pond I had no idea I'd be looking at paying £20+ for one water lily. Does anybody know if that's a pretty standard price. TBH I thought it would be about £5. xx0

No idea. Sorry.
I am continually horrified at the price of things:o xxI am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters.
