Me too Beanie. There's no way I'm paying £20 for a water lily. Might just fill a washing up bowl and stick some plastic plants in and call it a day :rotfl: xx

Morning Everybody

Day 25/31, Prolific £2, Spends 22nd-31st, £30
Got a teeny tiny survey for 20p yesterday so I'm hoping that's broken the dry spell and a few more will start to come through.
We have the little 'un today and are going to the donkey sanctuary. Then it's back home for some lunch and playtime and possibly a trip to the garden centre this afternoon just to have a change of scene for an hour.
I watched Eat Well For Less last night and can't decide whether I'm more amazed at the fact people can spend over £300 on food and not realise it  or that you can microwave eggs in a cup without them exploding :T I love a poached egg and this is as near as damn it but without the mess and unpredictability of making them in a pan.
DD hasn't heard about the interview but he did say he would ring whoever got the job but email the rest because he didn't like telling people over the phone they'd not been successful. Coward
I do have to wonder about interviews and interviewers these days. After a couple of 'normal' questions he randomly asked her if she was at Hogwarts what house would she put herself in. Eh? Then it was followed up by what was her 'thing' in life. She had to get him to clarify what he meant - which was basically what hobbies does she have. She made me laugh because she thinks his is possibly drugs :rotfl:
Right, best get a move on and start the day. Hope you all have a good start to the Bank Holiday. xx0 -
What random interview questions/ approach! Although, I'd take that over structured and super serious style any day
Hope she gets some good news soon!
Your day with the little one sounds lovely- I hope you enjoy it!
I also love the eat well for less show, but haven't watched it for so long. Great to pick up a couple of little tips.Sealed Pot Challenge 075

£20 for a water lily does seem a lot  but I think some people must have more money than sense!
I hope you have a good time at the donkey sanctuary, that sounds like a lot of fun

We did Auschwitz last year - was a very emotional day. Loved Krakow and the people were great. My only advice is have something light hearted planned for either the evening or the next day....we went to football.....Life is a journey - with many stations and diversions.0

Ask on your local freecycle/freegal/Facebook freebies pages, I asked for a bit of water lily last year and had lots of offers (you just break off a bit of root with a few leaves attached and pop it in your water). I set up a pond on our allotment plot using a free pond liner, free plants and even managed to rehome 6 goldfish. It's taken really well."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. It's only a part time job in what I suppose could be called an entertainment/experience setting, so I would get lighthearted and casual rather than serious, but it was just the randomness of the actual question. Good job she's read the books or she wouldn't have had a clue
She said Ravenclaw just in case anybody is interested, which I doubt :rotfl: and apparently he nodded his head in approval and said ah, good, good. :rotfl::rotfl:
This week's couple spent over £300 per week and didn't realise it. How on earth do you not know you're spending that much on food? xx0 -

I think my hubby is one of those people HHD. He's encouraging me to buy one because I don't buy much so he says I should treat myself, but I can't bring myself to hand that sort of money over especially as we're not building a proper pond.
The donkey sanctuary is OK, all you can do is look at the donkeys. It's not as interactive as the horse sanctuary we go to where children can help groom and feed the horses. But it passed half an hour.
I could do with a few surveys as well. I like 'free' money

Funny you should say that GPS because I read some reviews and a lot of people said leave it until the last day because the effects of it stayed with them for the rest of their holiday. It must be such a powerful and harrowing experience for people. xx0 -

That's a good idea Pooky, I don't do FB but I could look at freecycle. If I find a small one do they take a long time to grow? Must admit I don't know the first thing about them but thought one would look nice. We had a pond in our first house and I'd love another one but hubby isn't keen on having fish again, so I'm starting small with a fish-less container pond and will work my way up
