Paris is wonderful. Just back a few weeks ago. Can be as expensive or as cheap as you want to make it. I think a lot of this depends on where you are leaving from. I live in Scotland and our default position is to fly to Amsterdam and then go by train. Having said that we are retired and time is not a problem. Lots of options there for you though.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0

Yes, we've been to Paris and it's a lovely city. No yellow vests there when we went but we did manage to get caught up in an anti-war demo about Iraq  scared the living daylights out of me.
We're Greater Manchester so pretty well based for getting anywhere. I need to start doing my research.

The demonstrations with all riot police and everything are really scary because we're just not used to it here but it's actually worse than it looks. The Parisiennes just shrug their shoulders and walk on. Lots of great places to go for you.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
So many great ideas for your wedding anniversary. I think it's a lovely idea to make it a family celebration, they're all a part of it. We've got another 9 years to go, that's if hubby can put up with me that long. Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230

9 years will fly by CG
Really we should have got down to having children sooner rather than messing about having a good time
That way they'd both be adults and I wouldn't have to consider them :rotfl:
I think it's looking like it will be a family holiday to Amsterdam. The places yourself, GPS and Toni have mentioned look lovely - Vilnius especially. But the flights are quite long and that's another thing we want to factor in.
Of course, I've got completely side-tracked from hotels and I'm now looking at staying in a windmill or on a houseboat. I doubt we will but it's nice to imagine. Staying focused has always been a problem when deciding where to go on holiday  xx0 -
Prague or Budapest sound lovely, but all the suggestions are good
. I loved Austria but it is expensive. We cross posted, Amsterdam would be good and I love the sound of a windmill or boat house
.
I'd love to go somewhere abroad for our Ruby anniversary which is in eight years time, so that should give us plenty of time to save up for it :rotfl:. We had a family party for our silver anniversary which my parents very kindly paid for, but DH and I couldn't afford to go anywhere just the two of us.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

The last 16years have flown that's for sure. I don't think having adult children will stop my two wanting to come. My eldest has already said not to worry she'll still come on holiday whilst she's at uni:rotfl:
It's exciting and I'm sure you'll find somewhere that's perfect.Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230 -

Morning HHD
I'm sure you'll have a savings account up and running in plenty of time for your Ruby Wedding.
What a lovely thing for your parents to do for your silver. I love a good party and I have toyed with the idea of having one, but tbh we don't see any extended family from one year to the next and we're also dotted all over the country. It would feel like I was hosting an expensive reunion if that makes sense.
I'm going to spend the next few days investigating places I'd like to see/things I'd like to do then see how many days we think we'd need there.
Hope you have a lovely day. xx0 -

Morning CG
Times have changed haven't they. I know when I was in my late teens/early 20's I wouldn't have wanted to go on holiday with my parents, but they don't seem to mind these days - of course it being paid for probably helps

Morning Everybody

Day 22/31, Prolific £1.80 cleared, Spends 22nd-31st May £30
Shoppix: 900/3200 RH: 259/1500
Spends day again :j The only thing I've bought out of my money this week is coffee so I had £23.70 to divide between the pots which are now looking like this:
Savings : £60
DS Savings : £50
Dogs : £50
Hairdressers : £0
Christmas : £70
Christmas Charity : £25
Caravan : £25
Treats : £0
Target : £17/100 by September
Treats pot is empty because DD officially finished her first year at Uni yesterday so I sent her £10 towards a night out she was going on. DS got the other £10 which no doubt will get spent on some Xbox rubbish over the next few days.
Prolific has been really quiet these past couple of weeks and is behaving oddly. I've had 3 notifications that I've seen pop up while I've been on here and I've clicked on them straight away to find 'only 1 space remaining' flash up. Of course, I'm never that one. :rotfl:
Weather is lovely here today. I've been out doing a bit of pottering in the garden and I'm just about to have a brew. Apart from that there's not much happening.
Hope you all have a good day. xx0
