Daz I'm just having a catch up . Not sure if anyone has mentioned it or it actually still exists but many Drs surgeries used to have a loan service for TENS machines. It enabled people to try one to see if it would help. Pain clinic had a similar system.I can't remember who mentioned an employers assessment. It's law now that anyone either with temporary or chronic pain should be assessed and any adjustments whetherr temporary or permanent be put in place.Take care not to rush back if you are stil in pain. I had two very bad rotator cuff tears - one on each side of my body 4 years ago. As a carer I stupidly pushed on and they never healed fully.Take carepollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Polly is right, we are only issued with one body and we have to take care of ourselves. I remember one patient who uttered the unforgotten words of "she can be replaced, I cant" when the PT pointed out that she had to work on getting out of bed without pulling on the nurse and possibly injuring them. Over the years, I've had an ACL injury, a shoulder that froze after getting punched by a little old lady and now the sprained arm caused by yet another patient who did not follow instructions on safe movement..
Rest and heal.

Wow Wondercollie, what an awful thing for a patient to say
Daz, Yay, glad it finally arrived!
Thrifty I think something has been deleted - I had the page bookmarked on Google and the link no longer works, it says it's a page that doesn't exist!14 -
I had the same thing a few days ago as well as yesterday but I can't actually see that anything has been deletedIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!13

Daz it seems your online family are ordering you to take it easy!! I had a rotator cuff tear and it bloody hurts!!! Good news resting does eventually get it healed.
I too had the page not available message, I just assumed it was due to leaving this thread open on the PC and then pressing refresh to see if there were any more messages.
Ventured into town this morning as I had a speed awareness course yesterday after being caught speeding (35 in a 30). Course delivered via Zoom and with other participants, it was not boring at all and over very quickly, just a couple of hours rather than taking up a whole day. Town was quiet first thing but started to get busy as I was leaving. I heard that Monday was chaotic as it was first day out of lockdown, people stocking up and Christmas shopping as they were worried about a second lockdown.

Yes, I think that is the case. No doubt they will be back soon in their fourth? incarnation.
Anyway, back to Prepping. I have started gathering together small presents and food items for Christmas, to avoid any panic nearer the time, and to save dipping into December's salary which this time will have to last five and a bit weeks. We are not going mad this year, I asked my son how we could make it a special occasion and he just said he didn't care, just put up some decorations and get some nice food in. That's what we will do. I am working Christmas Day morning and we will have a roast turkey crown and Christmas pud for dinner that evening, together with some of the home made falling down liquid.
I am also gathering together items to donate to the food bank, so that others not so fortunate get something nice for the festive season. We are starting a collection of food items at work. One life - your life - live it!19 -
Sounds lovely nargleblast. I know the local food bank here tries to put together some nice, seasonal, food packages for people so I am looking to donate something to that. And there is a charity for the kids called every child needs christmas, which organises gifts for local children in need. A bit different this year, obviously, but still going. They had come up with a way for us to do that and support local businesses but then...lockdown. I am loathed to use Amazon (they have a gift wishlist), but it may be the best/only option at the moment.I may have told you guys that Christmas slots for Tesco were tomorrow. I was wrong! They are Friday at 7am for delivery pass holders, and next Friday at 7am for non pass holders. Sorry about that. My sister noticed my mistake, luckily!February wins: Theatre tickets14
