Vanished here too, Daz!
Also in despair here; we're close enough that the beach is only just a bit further on than the main shops (walkable from where DS2 & his fiancee live) and we're having to stay away thanks to the crowds appearing from elsewhere. There's no parking anyway. Sigh... but we're lucky enough to have riverside walks & open country too, so not exactly hard-done-by!Angie - GC Aug25: £207.73/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)10 -
We have fields 2 mins away which thankfully we can walk on and not many do but they are reached by walking along an old railway line that has been turned into a walk that goes for many, many miles and that does get full so reaching the fields can be a bit tricky. mainly due to trying to avoid all the kids on bikes racing down it. We have a small beach which is on the tidal river just 10 mins away but unless you go very early -as dawn breaks or very late - once sun goes down - these days it's packed whereas previously you hardly saw anyone bar other dog walkers like ourselves. So no beach for us for quite a while yet.Need to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

I have ordered an antibody test from Lloyd's pharmacy. These are the accurate ones, approved by PHE. Only doing so as we are pretty sure that I had it in March, but as i hadn't knowingly had contact with a confirmed case, i didn't meet testing criteria. If result for me is positive, then we will do one for DH also. I would be certain DD had it, as she passed whatever it was onto me, but whilst I would like her tested, I think you have to be over 18 to do that at home test.
Dr John Campbell revealed yesterday that studies are now showing that antibodies = some long term immunity, and knowing this, we would be able to relax a bit and would also be happy to send DD back to nursery. Also, importantly, Dr Campbell said you wouldn't be infectious either. Studies showed that those who tested positive after recovering were a tiny percentage, and didn't have 'live' germs. So they weren't actually reinfected, merely still had some old germs lingering around. Importantly, were not infectious. Hopefully, in time, the gov would allow those people who test positive for the antibodies some kind of 'immunity passport', which would allow them to get back to some sort of normality, help others etc etc.February wins: Theatre tickets16 -

For those having problems finding online food deliveries do you know about Amazon Prime Now - usually same-day delivery and no delivery fee if you spend over £40 per store. They use Morrisons for food and via Amazon alone you can get quite a good selection and they now also do a Morrison's delivery - so you can order from both. My hall at moment looks like a shop as hubby not to good ( just hayfever hitting him really badly and he looks so bad I doubt a shop would let him through the doors) and as he is our driver no shopping being done so as I have not once managed to get an actually normal delivery from any of the usual stores except Iceland and they don't sell everything I yesterday did a double order ( same day) from Amazon and Morrisons but the only delivery time I could get was 10 pm-midnight and it arrived nearer midnight and I was too tired to clean it all so just did fridge and freezer items and rest will be done eventually today Some is for use now and some will be put away to build up my stocks again for winter as we have used most ( well transferred from storage to kitchen cupboards) as been trying to keep hubbys outings to max once a week or less.
This time we have a bit more as a very close friend lives on her own and is in her late 70s and relies on her daughter to take her shopping as she lives other side of the fields from me and has no shops for miles and doesn't drive but daughter received a positive test for COVID yesterday and although so far not feeling to bad of course cannot go out and certainly nowhere near her mum so we are doing her shopping for her ( we always have done if her daughter couldn't as friend has agoraphobia, can now manage to take her dog for a walk on her own and even short walks herself but going to shops on her own is to much for her and of course not suitable since virus arrived ) and today her daughters husband has started with a temp and coughing but so far their two daughters ( early 20s) are ok., so just added her things to ours and later on hubby will drop it at hers, just leaving everything at end of her drive, just a five min drive thankfully through roads across the fields ( public roads not farm roads)but never busy as roads only really known by locals ) and no need to mix with anyone and give them a scare thinking he has the virus. Friends' daughter is a phlebotomist at a local hospital but has been in a non-Covid ( green section) of the hospital so they are now testing all the patients she has been dealing with plus she does lab work so she said they have told her that lab will be closed for deep cleaning and other staff tested. My friend was only one out of all my friends over the years that agreed like me we should have stocks in and be preppers. Friends' daughter has so often over the years lectured her when they are shopping on buying extra to put away as there was no need shops always have supplies! My kids were the same, just daft old mum spending needless money on preps rather than luxuries or saving it in the bank.
I live on a busy main road literally on the border of city ( houses across from me are in a different town) and for past few weeks its been as busy as it always has been but thankfully they are all driving through not stopping here so my area is still fairly quiet just people taking their dogs out and popping to the local shop which is across the road and around the corner.
Oh well, guess I better start cleaning and putting everything away as have an Iceland order coming tomorrow and a few things from normal Amazon and hopefully that is us for the next few weeks unless I buy for stocking up. Have veg plants that just arrived fro Rocket gardens today that need to go out - I lack much space to grow from seed sadly, so grow what I can and buy from there for the rest of veg plants.
Might start making some masks - we still have most I had in my preps as hubby only one that needed any for going to shops but when the student goes back to uni she will need a big supply and luckily I have a rather large stash of fabric including close weave kinds of cotton which I can add a filter to. Oh, I found Avon are now doing hand sanitizer so bought a few bottles from my rep and plan to buy more so the student can take a supply with her as well.

DH and I walked over to the local garden centre this afternoon. It's only small but they had done a good job of making it one way and easy to social distance. Lots of notices , arrows and tape on the floor. People were still trying to go the wrong way round. One man even squeezed between the potted holly bushes blocking off an aisle.12

Not sure if this is the right thread but I have a question regarding Morries delivery, my very first one and I'm not sure of the preocedure.I can't remember if I said I was self isolating and am wondering how they deliver in bags or their containers and I have to empty them all out before they leave. Antone know please I'm easily stressed with this virusWomen and cats will do as they please and men and dogs should get used to it.;)

it's their policy now for every delivery, self- isolating or no.
I haven't come face to face with anyone since my isolation started - I talk through my flat door. But you can open your door, they will stand back.
There are a few threads on online shopping on the Food, Shopping and Groceries thread further down, and you will probably find any queries you come up with, answered there, or they will be.
Good luck!
