unrecordings said:We've had our major argument. All done & dusted within the hour, we're now back to being a super solid team, more so than ever before - even the cat is pitching in My advice, if I may: he's only trying to provide but needs to understand the risk. Sit down this weekend and talk about your fears. Figure out together how to address those health & monetary worries. Give each other space to think, and ration talk of apocalypse to when it's most convenient for both of you with clear heads. Research what you need to on the internet together. Good luck12

Thryfty my youngest DD is in the same place as you, a 6 year old, a 3 year old and a 5 month old to deal with on her own for most of the day is proving to be a heavy burden. Her Hubby is working from home on the top floor and comes down for lunch and then she's on her own with them until 5.30 and is doing some home schooling while trying to keep their life structured and look after the baby and keep the house running too, she's twizzled, very worried and doubly so because she's a GP and as much as anyone knows the reality of what we face. I send you and her and everyone else as much love and hugs and positive vibes as it's possible to do, stay calm, it will pass, it will take time but one day it will be gone and life will NOT be as dark and frightening as it is today xxx.15

I have a reason to thank Brexit. Following the threads on here gave me the impetus to start prepping. Thank you all for you excellent advice.
I have a question. We are being told to wash our hands frequently but how often should we wash our hand towels or are the towels clean as we are drying just washed hands?

Our town branch of TSB has closed 'temporarily', one of a long list available on their web site. I only know because someone kindly posted the news on the local fb page last night. TSB suggests we all use the local post office, adding to the usual queues there, or drive 12 miles round trip to nearest open branch. Closure is apparently due to staff illness/isolation, and consequent security issues.9

Women and cats will do as they please and men and dogs should get used to it.;)

I am changing the hand towel at the very least daily if not twice daily. I chuck it straight into the washing machine . On the farm here the hand washing has always been constant so I am used to the flood of towels!

Thriftygifty said:DigForVictory said:Is there any canny way of making a bed (sheets & duvet, but blankets available) so that it's more comfortable for someone with a fever? Anything under the bottom sheet? M'mother in law remembers being imminently due but not contracting & making up the bed with the usual blanket & sheet then a tarp, then another blanket & sheet. She went into labour, had the baby (my sister in law) in the bed & then the midwife stripped the top layer & tarp off & settled her comfortably back in her own clean familiar bed. (My eyes always cross, both at a home delivery & who washed the blanket let alone the sheet...)
I was thinking is an underblanket cooling? Or not? I do not fancy trying to sleep on a tarp, but the layers idea seems nice unless it doesn't strip cool & dry.I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.12 -
