Yes, I think they would aim for something with the mortality rate of ebola, but contagion of chicken pox!

Transmission is higher than SARS, but so far less deadly, But who knows how many have really died in china, And many could be dead at home and not yet found.

The Flu jab you get every year is usually for last years version, its like trying to cure the common cold you can't, it changes person to person.

I think you've misunderstood my comment. I wasn't saying that coronavirus was like ebola. We were talking hypothetically, and that IF it was bioweapon, they would aim for something more deadly. And I responded to that.

MrsLW, quite right. Keep calm and carry on for now :)

Have just seen the latest news and the film of about 50 diggers on a huge site in China where they are building a 1000 bed hospital in a week.

That's right, one thousand bed hospital in a week.

Absolutely amazing, although I imagine it will be fairly basic.

A week is just to long really, reports being that all hospitals are full and closed, and the emergency phone number was simply over loaded and useless, The Car ban i presume means no taxis and any sick would have to walk if they could.

And they are simply struggling to even test for it, they can only do 2000 a day. And some are showing clear until the third test.

Average cure rate in wuhan is 12 days, and then 10 days observation.

At Team Meeting, Liverpool based colleague all for the coronavirus, as he says a month in a hotel with no responsibilities sounds blissful. We hadn't the heart to point out odds of mortality, nor the obvious logistics of and what of your beloved family all 3 of who are studying (at different locations) & who might not share your enthusiasm?!

(Although I found hospital was a cracking good place for exam revision - fewer distractions & more immerse into alternate universe preferable.)

I appear to have nearly wiped the tea stash. There may be other locations, but the main heap is down to just one sealed box, so steps will be taken. Quietly appalled, but grief does take your eye off the ball.

My consultant will probably tell me off but I didn't even get the flu jab, having encountered a couple of people who got really poorly just after - even though the vaccine wasn't 'live'.

Meanwhile 30,000 expats in China advised to return to the UK. What could possibly go wrong?
