Last of my,very few, posts on this thread.
Achieved my NSD target but blew the grocery budget though the cupboards, fridge and freezer are well stocked to head into 2019 with.
Thank you to everyone who has run a thread this year and posted, it's really interesting to see how others are dealing with what life has thrown their way.

Thank you for this month's challenge, apple :T

No spends so far today - however, we are having a takeaway tonight, so there will be spends then (local Indian) A small amount of alcohol will be consumed (I'm likely to have just a glass of prosecco (need to use up the leftovers from Xmas Day!! :D), OH a couple of bottles of beer (had several as presents) and the students will no doubt be on cider/ vodka (not combined!) Games are planned - lightweight ones early on in the evening and then cards against humanity when smalls are in bed. DS1 has his gf here too, so she will be joining in :)

Today I am thankful for watching a squirrel in our garden several times (he is a frequent visitor), cuddles with DS3, twinkly fairy lights still in several rooms around the house, easy food for dinner (no cooking :j)

Baked 2 huge loaves of bread (1 white, 1 seeded wholemeal) today - had 2 slices of the wholemeal toasted with scrambled eggs for brunch - very yummy. Tried out 1 new loaf tin and have already released 1 other to the CS bag( almost full now, but I think I can find more to go next week or so, so will transfer it to a bigger bag :D)

Hoping 2019 brings what people need xx

  • Thank you for this months challenge, l may be more of a lurker than a poster but l'm still here. Happy New Year to one and all see you in the January challenge x
    Count down to retirement 2023
  • Evening all :hello:
I just want to echo what everyone else has said - thanks Apple for our TARDIS adventure, and to everyone who runs a challenge and everyone that contributes.
I have been a bit unwell today and am only just starting to feel human again - I've been broken with a migraine and I just couldn't shift it. However, I am starting to recover, although I am very tired now and unlikely to make it to see in the New Year (not that I'm in the least bit bothered).
I have had a spendy day today - the car arrived back from its service early and I went to Mr M to stock up on 'snack food' for me and the kids as traditional New Year plans have changed. However, I credit that shopping trip with actually helping to clear my head.
    Today I'm grateful for:
The car not costing any extra or needing repair
    My headache clearing up
Starting new traditions with my family
Enjoying time in my own home
I will be signing off for the night soon, so I want to wish you all Happy New Year and I'll see you over in January.

My final turtle entry for 2018!

NSDs: Another NSD today, helped by leaving the house without my handbag! Luckily there was enough petrol in the car to get me home!

Extra Income for December: Total was a very unexpected £120, which was helped by this forum which prompted me not to stop advertising things I no longer need.

I won £64 worth of Muc-Off bike cleaning products today! As a cyclist who has to regularly wash down her bike in winter, this was pretty neat and prompted me to tidy the bike paraphernalia this morning! Prize will be shared with training partner nd best friend!

    4 Gratitudes:
My older pooch for making it through 2018, here’s hoping he will be around for some time.
    Reliably productive rescue hens!
Ringing in NY with OH and sis-in-law in relaxed, effortless fashion.
MSE for transforming my spending habits at the second half of 2018! Thanks to all the turtles who have helped make this so. It is so appreciated! I wish you all a healthy and prosperous 2019!

    IO BTL1 Mortgage was £97,693.54 on 09/08/18; £83,140 on 31/12/19.:D

Thank you to all you turtles (and all the lurkers too) who have come in the TARDIS with me on this month's adventure. :D

Wishing you all a prosperous 2019 in all areas of your lives.

  • A quick final check in, 14/15 NSDs in the end. No baby clothes bought on eBay, like to think I've broken the habit :D

Lauren I absolutely feel your pain there. I bet they didn't shout at you ever again! I honestly feel like I did the first time DH left me alone all week with DD when she was a couple of weeks old. How stupid! Sadly I am a very light sleeper, I only sleep during the day if I've had a general anaesthestic! I am better off running on 2-3 hours a night...

    Gratitudes
    - apple for running this thread and therefore breaking my eBay habit and encouraging my reading habit
    - for a quick homemade thrifty dinner
    - for leftover homemade Christmas cake
    - for my comfy new PJs

    And Gratitudes for 2018:
    - for the NHS who saved DD's life, and mine too
    - for NSTs who keep me on the straight and narrow!
  • Oh and greent I bluddy love cards against humanity!
