Thanks lauren; DD used to be a ridiculously good sleeper but the last couple of months she has lost the plot and cannot sleep, day or night. She just screams if tired. Dreading DH going back to work and his deployments as I'm alone out here. Need to find her "off switch" by then!
I spent today, on some socks that were cheaper in a shop than online. A rare enough thing these days. Went for a walk with DD and DH into town, it was our only purchase.
Only on 13/15 NSDs so I won't reach my target now for the first time
Gratitudes
- a walk with DD and DH, even though the weather was miserable most of town was shut, the combination of the two things made it very quiet and relaxed
- for summoning up the energy to do a Quorn roast "chicken" for dinner with trimmings
- for DD waking me up with her laughter this morning (even though this meant that at her last waking I gave in and let her sleep in my bed for a few hours)
- for using shower gel from my mum this morning (I usually only get 20-30p bars of soap for me!)
Job for tomorrow is to sit down with DH and fill in our new budget book for January.0 -

With children everything is just a passing phase, unfortunately this also applies to the good phases.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

DH has gone to work today but should be home at a reasonable time. I have rather ambitious plans for the day:
1. Have another coffee:D
2. Go cycling (I need to loose the 2lb's I've gained over Christmas)
3. Shower
4. Make energy balls
5. Prep and make 2 loaves of bread
6. Batch cook sausage casserole
7. Batch cook chilli
8. Batch cook shepherds pie
9. Vacuum whole house
10. Quick flick round with a duster
11. Walk dog
12. Make mushroom soup
I think I may need some assistance from two very unwilling children.
Yesterday DH & I dropped DD off for her shift at the charity shop she volunteers at and DH got a Regatta fleece top, looks new and is a nice thin one for wearing for walking in spring - £2.20. We then nipped into town and bought more candles whilst they are still £1.75, new fragrances so we got two of each. We do not need any more candles.
We also bought a Thermos food flask reduced in Sainsburys, we already have one of these and use it a lot but there are times when both DH and me need it so we now have a bright red one (the colour I originally wanted), they come with their own foldable metal spoon and are an excellent product. We bought some YS bread rolls, a pizza for DH for tonights party tea for NYE, and some 1/2 price pj's for DH which he looked rather fetching wearing last night.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Haha, thank you dolly, I may put that on a sign somewhere in the house. We knew we were so lucky with DD's sleeping to start with. We appreciated it, basked in it, yet somehow the fall to hourly wakings is still a heavy one and we've landed with a bump. DH has been so helpful with her whilst he's been off for Christmas, I don't know what I'll do without him. I was hanging on by a thread before Christmas.0

Lavanderbee if it makes you feel any better, hub was in Kenya when DS1 was about 2 months old and was ill. he wasn't sleeping & I was EXHAUSTED. Anyway, at the time my Dr was on camp & I accidentally parked in the wrong place & got shouted at by the guards. I literally broke down in hysterics and cried for about half an hour on them:rotfl::rotfl:Its funny now but at the time I was broken. Sounds like you're doing great & just make sure you do sleep when she does, even if its all day long0

Morning everyone. My gratitude list for today is:
I am grateful for Oh being off work and having time to spend with each other.
I am grateful for a calm morning where I can get outside for a walk.
I'm grateful for a warm house and a comfy bed.
Have a great Hogmanay everyone.0 -
Thank you so much for our time in the tardis apple. I'm going to sign out now as I'm still trying to tidy before decamping to mum's (back Wednesday morning then back at mum's on Thursday, then a 3 day weekend). Very slow and creaky today - even though I am being very disciplined about resting in between mini bursts of activity.
See you all in January turtles, Happy Hogmanay and a very merry Doctor Who special day to all my fellow nerds (sorry dolly).
Today I am grateful for much needed sleep, finding 12 things to send to the cs (bin in library) to kickstart 2019 giving, for making (extremely slow) progress, for pain - my body's warning signal and I am getting good in noticing nuances (noticed the ankle symptoms and that it wasn't just the 'usual' aches and pains). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Well. last day of the year. Where has the time gone?
December hasn't been the greatest month for one reason or another but it could have been worse so we count our blessings and move on to 2019.
Thank you, Apple for December and for everyone else who took time throughout the year to run the challenges and, most of all, thank you to all of you for your support and advice.
I wish you all everything that you wish for yourselves next near and always. xxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
apple - thank you very much for running this challenge and thanks to everyone who contributes, I love reading what people have been up to and how supportive everyone is on here.
Well I have achieved almost all I set out to do today, the only thing I didn't manage to do was make the bread, that will have to wait until another day, probably just as well as both my freezers are crammed. I now have sausage casserole (didn't have one of the dried sauce mixes so made my own and it is lovely) for 3 meals, 6 individual shepherds pies, mushroom soup for one meal for 3, and 3/4 portions of chilli. All are vegan and the mushroom soup tastes amazing (made the recipe up), why can't I eat these things when I go out??
Enjoy your evening however you spend it, we are having party food and a drink but will be in bed long before midnight I imagine.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler
