Felt quite grumpy yesterday, but still managed not to spend - I went to Saynsbo, but didn't even buy heavily reduced Christmas cards for last year. Probably will do today, as I have to go to my new bank - my cc is due to be paid tomorrow, and they didn't tell me I needed something called a card reader, so I can't pay it online. Since I'm there, and since I've finally run out of Christmas cards in my stash, it would make sense.

Once the card reader arrives, I can sort my finances properly, including a new mobile contract with a different company, or slashing the costs of the existing one.

  • Hello everyone
Had a lovely xmas day with my Dad & his gf, then yesterday with my mum and her bf and my sisters.
NSD - racked up a couple more since I last posted but definitely only on 11 or 12 so far. Will definitely have one today though. Bought an electric toothbrush in Amaz0n sale yest.

Feeling very relaxed and happy. Grateful for laughing with my sisters, good food and good company.

Today I need to do some work from home and I'm going to do a lot of reading and thinking about the future. Have a lovely day turtles.

f0xh0les - I really want some of those beeswax wraps so I would actually have been very happy with them - they are expensive.

I avoided the sales on the whole but did do a small Superdrug order for toothbrush heads and a couple of items for DD.

We are going into town today to pay some cash into the kids bank accounts and to call into the health food shop.

I think this year I have felt very annoyed by the sales, it is not nice to see things you've bought to give as a gift reduced to half price before you've even given it to the recipient.

  • Well, I spent quite a lot of money today. Booked flights to Amsterdam and trains from Amsterdam to Paris for our holiday in April. The money is all in our holiday account so at least it's all accounted for.

I've frozen the remains of the Boy's Christmas dinner. What on earth possessed his Dad to buy a chicken that size for two people plus a roast beef joint is beyond me. However, nothing going to waste. I've made chicken stock and I'll use the rest to make some "ready meals" for them.

Other than that I've had a nice relaxing quiet day,

    NSD achieved today 17/20.
Did get unset today as a company has taken over who was dealing with wheelchair supplied for my Mum. They phoned up chasing to pick it up. They knew she died but no other information at hand. Told them that she died over a year ago and the wheelchair was returned.
    Grateful for:
Walking in park - 2 laps.
    Talking to people in park.
    Chilling out.
    Piorot.

Unexpected things like that bring it all back, don't they? Lots of hugs and loving thoughts for you. Oh and I love Poirot too.

Today I am grateful for a much better night's sleep, for a smooth trip to bham, for seats on every train, for cheering mum up, for finding a gd bk in the ch shop for dd's bday, for a good amount of walking, for cooking dd's tea at a friend's house so we also had a good natter, for a swimming pool that's so warm it feels like swimming in a bath, for finding a heater in the wardrobe of our slightly chilly room (or 'freezing' room as dd puts it :rotfl:), for WSM 2018 about to start on channel 5. I'm off!!

  • Hello :hello:
Well today was a spendy day, as shock horror  we had run out of the only frozen pizza that ds will eat!!! So, I psyched myself up for a trip round Mr S, list in hand figuring I might as well do the weekly shop while I was there. Quite surprised to see it almost deserted.
Got everything on my list plus one off-list reduced dessert (from £8.50 to £3, and it's massive!)
Visited bestie for a couple of hours over lunchtime (turkey sarnies, hm sausage rolls and my dessert) and then came home and did a cook up of some leftovers. Beef casserole and Christmas Dinner soup (which tastes much nicer than it looks).
Now settling down for another quiet evening in front of the telly with a drink and some crochet.
    Today I'm grateful for:
Lots of meals prepped from leftovers
    An easy grocery shop
    Catch up with bestie
Poirot - same as everyone else :D
