Oh and has anyone been to Gatorland and is it worth a visit?

    Cheers

Went to Gatorland and I have a little tip... After a certain time in the day, they do reduced admission price. If I recall correctly, it was half price after 3pm.... ring them to check.

It's a place worth going to, but really glad I didnt pay full price... not enough there to justify that
  • I recommend Gatorland, it is a half day trip and well worth it, we went on the Boggy Creek Airboat ride first and we saw one 12 inch long baby gator, but the trip was fun out on the lake.

"Gatorland® is a one-of-a-kind, protected habitat for man and beast where adventures lurk around every corner! Internationally known as the Alligator Capital of the World, Gatorland’s 110-acre theme park and nature conservatory is located in Central Florida at the head of the Florida Everglades. Once you have experienced Gatorland, it will be hard to believe that it began in 1949 as a roadside attraction!"

    We collected our tickets here;
    http://www.officialticketcenter.com

adult price $18.25 which is $6 saving

Throwing hot dog sausages to alligators is strangely fascinating!
If it takes a man a week to walk to walk a fortnight how long does it take a fly with tackity boots on to walk through a barrel of treacle?

We did Boggy Creek too, and it's a great experience. Saw a few turtles out there, and some small gators, but the highlight for me was seeing a nesting pair of American Bald Eagles in the wild...

Hi, we have just booked our flights to florida next may and now need a 4 bed luxury villa for 2 weeks, The villa needs two master bedrooms could anybody recomend any companys as we would like to book asap.
    Thanks Jen

I am in the process of looking for a villa and have used some of the sites reccommended on this thread. I filled in the enquiries forms on the page and had about 60 villa owners contact me with reduced rates.

It may be worth a try. Here is one of the ones I used but there were around four different forums to use.

    www.lastminutevillas.net

    Hope this helps
  • My turn !

I have been lucky enough to have ben to Florida a few times, always booked well in advance.

If I took a real last minute deal (happy to go at 24 hours notice !) in November or early next year has anyone tried similar and if so what was the best flydrive offer and accommodation ? I have learnt to book these as separates before to save on ocst

Cheapest I've found (on travelsupermarket.com) £501, Manchester to Sanford Airport, flights with Thomas Cook on Thursday 27th March, through Airflights.co.uk.
    No idea what they're like.
Or £584, same airports, on Sat 29th March, from My Travel

As 27th March falls in the school Easter Holidays next year, I'd book sooner rather than later if you're tied to certain dates.
2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shading
Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the end

just wanted to recommend Disney's Backyard Barbeque if you are going to Disney Florida. It is excellent especially if you have kids that love the characters. It is in the evenings (twice a week i think) at the hotel with the wooden camping lodges (can't think of its name) you get a boat to it from Magic Kingdom.. Yoy have barbequed food, drink (wine, beer and soft) + desert. A wildwest show and barn dancing with all the disney characters in cowboy outfits. also lots of time for photo's and autographs. It is brilliant, but you have to book well in advance - before you go away.

We are going to Florida in April 08 and I am booking up the barbeque this month.

    Have fun!!

That is what I love about Disney! I have been going now for over 20 years, when Kissimmee was a backwater! And I have never heard of this, or we would have been.
Is it for Disney hotel residents only or can anyone go?
As stated we have been going for over 20 years and set people up with tickets, travel ,villas and condo's its only natural to help and Disney freaks are great for it. And sometimes you do get stressed out about other peoples holiday but you speak as you find and we love it there and we want other people to love it too!
    But not all do!
You only have to read this thread and you will see that all share their experiences, hence boards like the Dibb and UKDISH.
Loathe to putourselves forward but if we can be of assistance to anyone you only have to ask!
