I was, but sold a year ago to help pay for Stamp Duty when we moved house :( Hope to buy again in about three years' time when I hope to have saved enough. Are you a DVC Member? Which resort?

    Hi Karen,

We are members at Old Key West. Joined in 1995. My OH worked for Disney at the time, so made buying a bit easier. Sorry to hear about the stamp duty. I'll keep my fingers crossed for the dollar going down so that if you buy back in it doesn't cost very much.

  • Hi,

Been reading for a few weeks now and looking for some help.

After many years of planning we are taking the kids to Florida in 2008. Been thinking of swimming with Dolphins but seems really expensive. Any suggestions of how we can achieve this without breaking the bank?

we did discovery cove on sept 7th. it was magic. if you book the ticket with seaorld and busch gardens (if you're doing them) you only need a univ. studios, wet n wild, and islands of adv, ticket, so you save on that, we paid £151.89 (booked direct with DC) then bought 3 park flex for £65 saving aroung £50 on 5 park flex making DC just over £100. Not cheap but worth it.
  • Once you've been you won't be worrying about the cost. It's fanataasssttiic!!!

This is something i would love to do as well. It seems to me that discovery cove has the monopoly on swimming with dolphins!!

Does anyone else know of other places in florida that may do it?
  • Thanks for all the suggestions so far. Have emailed Discovery Cove direct asking for details.

As others have already said, it's a truely memorable experience - we did this last year and it was the best thing we'd done in 5 years of going to Florida. Also, all your food, drink and snacks for the day is included in the price of the ticket and it's really good food too, not your usual burger and chips faire. If you get there early enough, you can have brekkie, lunch and diner there (you can tell we're piggies :p )

Forget the cost, just do it because you'll love it!
