    Hi all

Going on our third trip end of Nov for 10 days, been in the summer before but wanted to go around christmas time this time, anyone been around christmas time, is it a good time?
Also have been told that Broadwalk (where shops and restuarants are is nice) tried to find it last time with no joy, how do we get there?
Staying in Lake Buena Vista, can you get there from down town disney on the boats? Anything else to recommend seeing at this time?
I think that this is Thanksgiving time and will be pretty busy.

The only places the Downtown Disney boats visit are Disney hotels: Saratoga Springs, Old Key West and Port Orleans Riverside & French Quarter. So they won't take you anywhere in Lake Buena Vista apart from there.

OK there are several different ways to get to the Boardwalk depending on where you are and what your transport is!

From MGM / Disney Studios you can drive or take a boat or walk; about 15 minutes. When you come out of MGM head left along the river and you will get to the Boardwalk rooms / tennis court about 6-7 minutes later (on your right, the Swan hotel is on your left). Keep going and the shops / restaurants and a bit further. If you take the boat the captain will tell you when to get off, though to be honest you can't miss it!

From Epcot - walk or boat, both from the International Gateway exit / entrance. The IG exit may be found between the UK & France in World Showcase. There are boats as yo leave but it only takes a few minutes to walk (all signposted).

From any other park or Downtown Disney jump on a bus marked "Boardwalk". This is meant mostly or hotel guests but it's fine for anyone to use. Often the Boardwalk shares buses with the Swan / Dolphin and sometimes the Yacht & Beach Club too so the bus may list some or all of those. As long as it says Boardwalk on there somewhere you're OK :)

Finally you can drive or take a cab. If you drive follow signs for the "Epcot Resort Area" and then take the Boardwalk exit. It's very near the back exit to MGM, by a Hess garage.

I think I've covered all the options there ;)

paggee -I meant to press quote pressed thanks instead- sorry, what a wally :o .

As Dazco says here will be a few busy days over Thanksgiving but it should then be pretty quiet in the parks. Early December is the time of lowest attendence throughout the whole year.

The weather can be hit or miss. You might get lovely sunny days and nice temps, when we went it was freezing (literally; we had to wear hats and gloves and the staff had wrapped up the shrubs to stop them from dieing!) You'll be very unlucky to be as unlucky as us though as this was an unusually cold year.

The Xmas decorations around the parks are just beautiful though the Xmas music got on my nerves after a couple of weeks ;)

If you like Xmas don't miss the decorations at some of the Disney resorts - my favourites for this are the Grand Floridian and Wilderness Lodge.

Also don't miss the Osbourne Lights at MGM - absolutely stunning and you may or may not want to go to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, a hard-ticketed event at Magic Kingdom.

Thanks for the advice, the villa is here http://www.oakwaterresort.com/oakwater-resort.cfm#a_amenities I think, that one is $950 for 14 nights

This is the £500 villa, seems a bit daft for only 2 of us. http://www.florida-villa-rental-tk.com/index.html

Dazco - I think the Oakwater place looks lovely, plus your DD might meet some other kids to play with maybe? I've not been to it myself but the location is good.

The villa in Davenport would be too far out for me.

Thanksgiving is Thursday 22nd November and everywhere in Orlando will be very very busy for that weekend. I would avoid the parks during this time as there will be huge queues. However as soon as the weekend is over it is very quiet. We normally visit for the 1st 2 weeks of December and it is a great time. All the parks and stores have their christmas decorations up for thanksgiving but normally the parks seem virtually empty. It is a great time for christmas shopping.

The weather can be in the low 80's or high 70's although it does get cooler in the evenings so remember a coat or cardi.

    Have a great time! :D

  • Has anyone ever bought tickets from these people?

I can't get a better price anywhere, but obviously, I don't want to be losing my money if its not a good provider

    https://secure.wdisneyw.co.uk/form.php
It's on the unofficial guide to WDW website, which is a great website for info, but as I said, i've not bought from them before and wonder if anyone can advise me on it!
Thanks for reading - The Waltons

    Hi Waltonvale!

We are also off early November and I am currently looking for a villa and park tickets. I have come acroos this https://www.attractiontix.co.uk/book_3.asp
they seem to be able to offer self printing tickets which is an advantage. We only need a 7 day ticket though and I can only find 14 days -
